br-m<321bob321> Has an monero wallet been third party audited ?
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> @321bob321: just the monero-wallet rust crate

» agent314 really wishes /me bought more monero back when localmonero just first closed
-
agent314i almost tripled my investment, at least at current monero prices, i just wish i bought more than half a monero :)
-
agent314im not even sure why xmr is staying so high, haveno-reto at this point is essentially as easy to use as localmonero
-
moneromoooHigh ? Has monero 10x'd since yesterday ? It was less than 1% of bitcoin, which is criminally insane...
-
agent314i mean i thought the current price hike is all bc of localmonero
-
agent314after LM closed it went from about 150 to like 300 and then i think another couple of exchanges dropped monero so it went up, at some point i think to 700
-
agent314xmr almost has properties of an inelastic good, there's really no alternative to monero that i know of
-
agent314but i dont think thinking of it in terms of xmr is 1% of bitcoin makes sense does it? it's all relative to the coin itself? idk im bad at economics
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Bitcoin is inflated by institutional investments and leverage
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> And no, haveno ismt anywhere as easy to use as LM > <agent314> im not even sure why xmr is staying so high, haveno-reto at this point is essentially as easy to use as localmonero
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> One thing i cant stand is when ppl are boldly dishonest
-
agent314ok there's more technical difficulty
-
agent314what i mean is after LM died it seemed like there's nowhere else to get monero without KY
-
agent314KYC
-
agent314i remember frantically collecting people's matrix accounts as LM was dying and then paying $20 fee just to trade monero at higher than market rates privately
-
br-m<gan:skhron.org> There's still various traders in different TG channels, but that generally depends on your state
-
agent314like at some point it seemed like there was no way you could get monero unless you knew somebody
-
agent314gan, well that's what i mean by knowing somebody... having to know various telegram channels and trying not to get ripped off in the process
-
br-m<gan:skhron.org> I'd agree, but that's somewhat universal, even knowing of LM required some prior knowledge
-
agent314now it's just technical knowledge you need to like configure haveno-reto
-
br-m<gan:skhron.org> Well... haveno is somewhat of a wasteland compared to what was on LM
-
agent314it's like this [LM------------------------haveno-reto--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------summer of 2024-when-you-needed-to-be-in-the-right-telegram-channels]
-
agent314that's like where x-axis is difficulty
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> setting up accounts & funding them is the most annoying part of taking offers on reto
-
agent314but i certainly hope monero keeps going up in price haha
-
agent314maybe im wrong, maybe it should cost even more now that the world needs private coins even more due to political crap
-
br-m<intr:unredacted.org> the price of monero has been 1xmr for a while now... I wouldn't get your hopes up
-
br-m<gan:skhron.org> 🚎
-
agent314my biggest problem with reto is that there's less people supporting like chime or cashapp trades
-
agent314localmonero was just filled to the brim with people trading chime, venmo, cashapp, whatever you want
-
agent314you could get the urge "i need monero" at 3am, hop on LM, find like five people up online trading at the exact time, send them chime, and have XMR in like an hour since you had that urge
-
br-m<intr:unredacted.org> yeah, memes aside, localmonero really was a tragedy
-
agent314now i have to like go to some sketchy web-site to get bitcoin, which seems like a similar process to localmonero, but then you need to launch haveno, wait three hours until it sets up all the networks and everything, choose between like two people that are willing to trade the half monero that you are trying to, oh and like you better have some monero at this point because you need deposit to trade, i mean once you do that its smooth
-
agent314my main observation now that i think of it, is that haveno reto seems to have gotten a little better mainly in the way that you dont seem to need deposit anymore to trade it
-
agent314at least currently, traders come and go obviously, it's all dependent on heroic efforts of people setting up whatever the hell you need to setup to sell xmr on havenoreto :)
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> agent314: You need a deposit unless you know the password for the no-deposit offer
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> And the no-deposit max offer is much more limited
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> So even if you have a trusted trading partner, they still need enough xmr for the deposit if buying more than [i dont remember how much] xmr

br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> > Lws 1.0 has been branched from master and is now available via docker at vtnerd/monero-lws:1.0 or ghcr.io/vtnerd/monero-lws:1.0 this version is now marked as beta and eventually will get the latest tag after sufficient testing. If compiling from source use branch name release-v1.0_0.18 which requires monero 18.0 branch (not master). The git submodule is now pinned to a working version
-
br-m<rbrunner7> @ofrnxmr:xmr.mx: Thanks for the info, nice to see it reach this milestone!
