m-relay<01kcrc1j2y:matrix.org> Hello Everyone! My name is Tomasz, I am a physicist transitioning to a dev job in industry. I have followed Monero project for some 5 years already, and now that I have finally graduated, I decided to find a way to contribute to its development.

m-relay<01kcrc1j2y:matrix.org> Thus far, my programming experience mainly revolved around low-level high-performance computing on GPUs. I also have pretty solid understanding of most cryptographic concepts used in Monero. I read that this group needs manpower, so I will be happy to help if there is some entry-level job to be done!

m-relay<rbrunner7:monero.social> Hello Thomas ! We can definitely use new devs, yes. "I also have pretty solid understanding of most cryptographic concepts used in Monero" sounds very promising, in any case. However, the "learning curve" can be quite steep for a new dev who wants to start to actually contribute code.

m-relay<rbrunner7:monero.social> I myself am not so close to dev work anymore now. Maybe other people can chime in with ideas. Anyway, small and maybe also reasonably-sized "entry level" dev work could be among the issues here: github.com/monero-project/monero/issues

m-relay<rbrunner7:monero.social> And similarly: github.com/monero-project/monero-gui/issues

m-relay<rbrunner7:monero.social> If you are good with Rust, there is a project to implement an alternative Monero daemon that is quite still young and could also use more manpower. It's called *Cuprate*, project is here: github.com/Cuprate/cuprate
