msvb-webInge: I got DNS and SSH working great, every other service including IRC either completely or partially failed.
-
msvb-webMaybe the airlines with their airhead-net from novelty 2004 need a few more years to work on the problem?
-
msvb-webNon IP services like GSM and D channels were completely absent by the way, give the airlines two or three more decades maybe please, they can get it right eventually.

lightloved[m]What's the right way to use the cli + remote onion node without needing to start the tor browser?
-
lightloved[m]Currently using port 9150 like this `./monero-wallet-cli --proxy 127.0.0.1:9150 --daemon-address xxx.onion:port`
-
lightloved[m]I guess I want to set up a port other than the Tor browser bundle default 9150, dedicated for the cli wallet.
-
sethsimmonsYou can just run the Tor daemon and then use the default SOCKS port, 9050.
-
lightloved[m]So just `sudo service tor start` and then run the wallet with the flag `--proxy 127.0.0.1:9050`. That should do it right?
-
sethsimmonsYup!
-
lightloved[m]Is there any difference from a privacy perspective?
-
sethsimmonsNo, both are using the Tor daemon
-
sethsimmonsTor browser just spawns it's own instance if needed.
-
» ComplyLast sees daemons everywhere
