The confiscation argument has been around since early Bitcoin days. Its a problem with PoW too (think of FED seizing a warehouse of ASICs), but PoS makes it 1000000x easier for them

Seth For Privacy: just fyi, i added a feature request to run Monero in pruned mode in BTCPayServer:
btcpayserver/btcpayserver-docker #557

<surgeon_[m]> "Or they could just their budget..." <- Watch the bullrun was just the central banks buying up a bulk of the crypto assets 😂 we just outplayed ourselves

<atomfried[m]> "a random thought about PoS for..." <- afaik the big DNM's don't accept ZEC though

<komikono[m]> "afaik the big DNM's don't accept..." <- they dont, everyone is hip to ZEC being a honeypot lol. its not a very well kept secret.

ajs_[m]
If anything, I am sure after they switch to PoS they will claim they are not a "privacy coin" anymore to try to appeal to regulators and boomer investors like Dash
-
ajs_[m]
Perhaps have some type of safe deposit box feature that offers a privacy feature, but on the PoS transactional level it would be all transparent

Can someone bring me up to speed?

carrington[m]
<MrSenshi[m]> "Can someone bring me up to speed..." <- msvb is a Monero hardware enthusiast so it might be worth you getting in touch. That's it really. How goes your hardware wallet project?

MrSenshi[m]
Snowed in, progress being made slowly but surely

MrSenshi[m]
It will accelerate in the near future.

Good work crypto_grampy on the Btcpay feature request.

<entry1[m]> "Watch the bullrun was just the..." <- 😁 well PoS coins maybe. But luckily we can check the blockchain to see where its coming from😜

I just released a rust crate to simplify the process of accepting monero using subaddresses:
github.com/busyboredom/acceptxmr
-
BusyBoredom[m]
There are still some features I'd like to add to it (like ZMQ support), but it's usable as is.

Is it even possible? I heard atomic swaps with BCH weren't possible because they didn't fix some bug (transaction malleability or smth like that)
-
mcfranko[m]
It used to be an issue, but bch has schnorr now which I think removes that issue
-
Rucknium[m]
BCH has had Schnorr signatures for 2.5 years.

See the linked post where Kayaba states that it appears to be possible:
