Hi all! I've been a community lurker for a while and finally decided to jump in. By trade I'm a writer & software engineer, but more importantly, I'm a die-hard XMR advocate and would love to help out in whatever ways could be most useful. Cheers!

Doing my best, trying to improve but I somehow always feel like I can do more for the community.

You are sacrificing your life / free time so other people can live theirs and still keep in touch with whats going on in the community. You deserve a pay rise

hard not to love the Monero Observer, one of the best things in the community in recent times
-
escapethe3ra[m]
I'm humbled, thanks guys. Let's not forget that I'm not the only one contributing my free time and energy to this project. Got lots of respect for all of you as well. The existence of Monero restores my faith in humanity.

Dammit. Most votes are for removing BTC, BCH, and ETH as donation options:

This one aligns perfectly with my opinion "Money is money. Accepting it in a pointless form like bitcoin is no different than accepting Renminbi. It isn't like our acceptance of Renminbi is an endorsement of the PRC's policies. "

isn't Mozilla paying their CEO multiple millions in salary while laying off countless employees?

"Money is money" anhdres so you're saying there's a chance Monerujo will accept BCH some day? 😁

"accepting it is that we're signalling support for an ecosystem known for endemic scams and criminal behavior by accepting through a processor. I prefer not to accept; let them convert to dollars themselves" 🤦

the same reasoning somebody from a country with a good banking system may have. crypto is here to help us in the underdeveloped countries the most

it's not only about price speculation, crypto is actually EASIER and CHEAPER to use than the fiat alternatives in a lot of cases

Exactly. They try to state that transaction costs are normally over 10%.... Well duh that's for Bitcoin and Ethereum. And they aren't incurring any transaction cost if they set up their own wallet (the sender would sending it ofc).

Sad to hear crypto FUD from another large non-profit. Bank transfers, credit cards and Paypal are inaccessible for millions of people without ID, don't allow anonymous or pseudonymous donations (could be risky depending on non-profit) and can easily be surveilled and censored. One comment also mentions BitPay, which requires KYC even for customers and is exactly as exclusionary as banking.
