Yeah it could be done that way in theory, it would not provide all the guarantees of the TAILS architecture but that is a possibility

There's another "just the facts of life" case where an attempt to gain privacy is non-specific in nature and therefore intrinsically "nothing of consequence" is to be gained by compromising the individual.
