Considering ring signatures only use previous addresses on the blockchain as dummies, isn't it trivial to determine which address a transaction was sent from if the sending address has never been used before?
-

If not, what do I misunderstand?

lberrymage[m]: Decoy selection algorithm in Monero is a tricky one, and in the past it has been exploited to deanonymize people.

Does the issue I mentioned exist though?

Seth For Privacy: how often does your docker node reset? It works perfectly fine but throws out my peer and rate limits
-
monerobull[m]
After a few days
-
monerobull[m]
Wouldn't be a problem with fiber but 500kb/s up causes real problems on my slow ass internet 😅
-
sethforprivacy
<monerobull[m]> "Seth For Privacy: how often does..." <- Weekly for image updates, but you can choose to not run the Watchtower container alongside it and only manually upgrade when desired.
-
sethforprivacy
If you do that then it won't restart at all (unless it hits an error or something and monerod crashes, but I've never seen that happen in years of running a node).

So i stop the container and restart it with that?
-
monerobull[m]
Ok thx, for the flag, do i need to watch out for anything?
-

--limit-rate-up 100
-
monerobull[m]
Would that work or is the space wrong?
-

Got it, thanks for the help :)

-
monerobull[m]
Ok nice
-
monerobull[m]
Went well, stuff is applied and running
-
monerobull[m]
Neat, loads of progress today, got the node fixed and vnstat configured so I can log how much data it's sending:)
