What's this community's sentiment on hardware wallets vs Tails persistent storage for keeping keys safe?

The reddit half of this community doesn't seem to have much love for hardware wallets, and I'm wondering if that's true on the matrix/IRC side as well.

Personally, I find the hww/feather interaction much more pleasant than using tails

it depends on threat model and how much time you're willing to spend 'looking into it'. if you're like me, lazy/stupid/poor, just buy a HWW for convenient cold signing (with many other cryptos) and the cost is offset by the peace of mind it brings knowing you're safe (just don't give your ledger seed to the wallet inspector on telegram) ... eventually you realise its slow AF and just use a hot wallet with a few $'s on it for quicker
