MAGIC was discussing repo.getmonero.org/monero-project/ccs-proposals/-/merge_requests/252, specifically stepping in for the remaining funding in a USD centric way to avoid a repeat of the current issue. We wanted to check the community's thoughts on Molly and its CCS before doing so

I don't want to over-represent here, yet you're more than welcome to share any further comments you have on the CCS now if you have any you want to :)

Those of us on the MAGIC Monero Func committee, which includes me, know that the community has strong opinions about the process of funding research and development. We wanted to see what people think before committing to anything.

The project is suffering from poor planning and lack of workforce. That's the bad news. The good news are that there are no technical blockers and we are satisfied with what it has been done until now

No milestones for that proposal have been paid out yet right? So do MAGIC want to 'make up the shortfall' / top the milestone payments up with USD if/when they are to be paid out?

is this like a guarentee to the molly team that for example, when milestone 1 is completed they get their '22xmr' and magic will top it up to the correct USD value? etc

We'd have to discuss the exact terms. That would be our initial expectation, yet our current grant is over a temporal unit. While we're indifferent, it may be preferable to redefine in months to offer planning, and they may be an upfront portion discussed. It'd depend on their end, but we wanted to discuss the opinions of the ccs proposal itself

There was also one idea briefly mentioned, about taking over the CCS's funding, with all relevant approvals, and becoming the issuer of milestones, yet I believe that's too much of a minefield to reasonably discuss. While it could help offer simplicity and certainty, it has too many people needing to chime in
