Does anyone know why it’s taking so long for Daemon on Monero wallet to synchronize? We are talking hours. I’m new to this so don’t know if that’s normal

it downloads and verifies 8 years worth of transaction history

you only have to do sync once and afterwards you always only have to sync the new blocks

you can also use a remote node if it takes too long for you

well, this is not the first time I’m syncing this and it’s taken hours for the second time

the GUI is currently not M1 optimized, only the command line tools are

you don't have to do that, but the M1 optimized version will be faster at sync

I assume cake would have to put a disclaimer stating that the nodes arent in their control and could go rogue.

I'd argue for them not to recommend third party nodes..

For a trusted list of community nodes, this should be done on a repo where a cake isn't responsible/liable for the recommendations
