during some attack or another you couldn't rely on the port sniffing database backend thing, so i just hardcoded 5 nodes

if i use ledger for a wallet connected to xmr gui wallet do i need to back up anything in xmr gui wallet?

all you need to back up is wallet seed (25 words)

Get letter stamps and stamp them onto steel washers. Put washers around a bolt. Waterproof/oil them, and put em in a safe place. Does anyone recommend safe deposit boxes in a bank?

ledger is partly proprietary hardware but trezor doesn't have a secure element so keys can be more easily read by someone with physical device access, is that about the shape of it? if so seems like there are no great options

multiple encrypted backups is an option -- different risk factors though and you still need to remember a solid password

Hi everyone! I hope you find this relevant. I'm a researcher at Aarhus University in Denmark and I'm doing an interview study about interoperable messaging 🤓. I'm looking for Matrix users in Europe that a) use bridges with mainstream apps or b) chat frequently with other Matrix users that prefer a different client.

The interview would take 30-60 minutes, and there's no compensation... BUT you'd be contributing insights that could impact policy and tech design about interoperability :) Any volunteers?
