Why would template refresh affect the block nonces?

endor00: Miners are less likely to hit bit 11 or 12 for the winning block since frequent updates would reset the nonce. Is that correct?

endor00: This nonce data would seem to indicate that this block template update delay has existed for a long time. I only have direct evidence since December when I started collecting mempool data.

I suspect things have been like this for as long as that pool software has been around

Even xmrig didnt update until post research

Only solo mining from the daemon did

(And p2pool)

That would have affected only solo miners though

Pre-randomx data is harder to analyze though, due to the effect of asics and other confoundint factors

Our nodes are constantly holding less tx in memory now

Previously youd see 300kb of tx arrived, and sit in memory for 2+ minutes before being mined, while more incoming tx piled on

Now, those large blocks are mined very quickly and the tx pool isnt given a chance to grow
