<4rkal:matrix.org> Any monero projects participating in hacktoberfest?
-
msvb-lab
I think Monero is totally absent from Hacktoberfest (the Digitalocean one) 4rkal. And the Monero Community has probably abandoned all duties at FOSDEM and Congress as well.
-
msvb-lab
There is just one week left before FOSDEM closes, and the announcement on Events last Saturday seemed convincing that we've abandoned the chance.

There may be a chance at participating in a BSides 2024, which has not yet closed their submission window. That would be nice to see.

<killercat103:matrix.org> Would it be an idea to have a feature in Monero like some form of contract to prevent scams and such?
-
m-relay
<killercat103:matrix.org> Like the sender of the makes a request to the provider of some goods or service to make this contract and attaches a sum of Monero that should be sent.
-
m-relay
<killercat103:matrix.org> When the provider accepts this contract the money is in a frozen state where no party owns it, the buyer cant use it and the seller has not gotten it but the contract is visible to both.
-
m-relay
<killercat103:matrix.org> If the service or goods cant be provided the provider can cancel the contract and thus unfreezing the funds for further use.
-
m-relay
<killercat103:matrix.org> But if it succeeds the buyer can complete the contract so the seller gets the Monero.
-

<killercat103:matrix.org> People could lose Monero still by bad actors but no party would be able to run of with the Monero

<instrumental_only:matrix.org> What's the best BTC mixer right now?
-
m-relay
<rucknium:monero.social> Killercat103: That's an escrow market with 2-of-3 multisignature transactions. Or a market without escrow with 2-of-2 multisig.

<instrumental_only:matrix.org> Yeah, I wanted the one for XMR. But also for BTC, I know mempool.space is used for BTC, but dont know if there is a better option.
