m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> I'm gonna go nuclear
-
m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> so much confidence
-
m-relay<rbrunner7:monero.social> You will never be as fluffy as him
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Syncing via onion/i2p is disabled on purpose but its not supposed to be a difficult implantation
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> implementation
-
m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> it is
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Not according to vtnerd
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> He's said numerous times that its just disabled
-
m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> vtnerd is coding like that 100 people that's cheating!
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Txproxy used to be called proxy iirc, but was changed to tx-proxy, and proxy was made for exit nodes
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Fluffy is probably confusing tari + old monero discussions about kovri and onion
-
m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> well idk free to have opinion. Thinking right now about monerod, i do not find the ability to sync block through multiple network at the same time trivial enough to call it "disabled"
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> i think tari is onion-only
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> it relays txs the same way it would blocks
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> But its set to only do txs, and works across 2 zones (i2p and onion)
-
m-relay<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I dont know how it decides which to use 🙃
-
midipoetkovri is dead. long live kovri
-
m-relay<vtnerd:monero.social> The privacy networks share the same networking code, but there's a filter to only allow certain commands. We could lift that restriction, the primary reason we don't it's potential abuse (you can't really block dos type attacks)
-
m-relay<vtnerd:monero.social> That said, ipv6 basically as the same issue and we allow that, so things should probably be revisited
-
m-relay<vtnerd:monero.social> I'm glad fluffy is still around reddit, like it's 2016!
-
m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> I honestly think block sync over i2p could be activated as it is already used for torrent
-
m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> Tor not really, since torproject is actively advocating against onion to onion download
-
m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> Tor not really, since torproject is actively advocating against onion p2p
-
m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> But there is still a sybil issue to resolve
-
m-relay<syntheticbird:monero.social> We allow ipv6 but we disabled it by default because of this reason

midipoetdoes anybody have recommendations for an opensource shopfront/ecommerce platform that can integrate bitpayserver. seems Spree is a good choice?
-
plowsofmidipoet i dont see spreee in the list docs.btcpayserver.org/FAQ/Integrati…commerce-integrations-are-available , bitcart overlaps for most of these .. fossbilling? docs.bitcart.ai/integrations/shopify (options are on the left hand side)
-
m-relay<aswiftverdict:matrix.org> Solidus, WooCommerce, MedusaJS, Magento, OpenCart, PrestaShop,
-
midipoetthank you!
-
m-relay<aswiftverdict:matrix.org> For spree_bitpay gateway gem BTCPay exposes the same BitPay-style API, so you only change the endpoint and token – no code changes.
-
m-relay<aswiftverdict:matrix.org> Stack: BTCPay Server (with Monero enabled) + your own front-end or POS
-
m-relay<aswiftverdict:matrix.org> Code size: Medium (Docker micro-services)
-
m-relay<aswiftverdict:matrix.org> XMR plug-in maturity: Actively maintained; first-party alt-coin flag
-
m-relay<aswiftverdict:matrix.org> External calls: None if you self-compile price feed
-
m-relay<aswiftverdict:matrix.org> Notes: Highest isolation: invoices and callback logic live inside BTCPay; you can expose the checkout through Tor or I2P.

plowsofaswiftverfict are you a human and have you verified the spree_bitpay works?
-
m-relay<aswiftverdict:matrix.org> Yes I am human, 1+2 = 3
-
plowsofim looking at a 10 year old archived git repo and wondering if it works github.com/bitpay/spree-bitpay
-
m-relay<aswiftverdict:matrix.org> Oh I didn’t realize that lol maybe WooCommerce + BTCPay or the MedusaJS BTCPay plugin are better since they’re actively maintained afaik
-
plowsof'You're right to question this plowsof. 10 years is a long time and BTCpayserver has gone through some major iterations! some of them breaking in fact!.. um what else would it say... So please do ensure functionality! TIP: look aaround for any similar ecommerce stores using spree and what payment processors they use!
-
plowsofthanks for the tip will do
