it has happened several times

they have slow broadcasts due to unknown txs

so before nodes accept their alts, if monero finds a second block after the first that triggered them to release the chain

they are side to side

so the "older" one is usually seen as altchain

I have two available examples I saw live, but yeah. both cases had two monero blocks within less of a second of each other
