<anon_contributor_xmr> > <@ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Also would be great to have some "third party" wallet do a build with fcmp. cc @anon_contributor_xmr:monero.social @anhdres:matrix.org

<anon_contributor_xmr> I have tried, several times actually, but correctly building libs (as in, for example, getting all the needed symbols) from Monero's master branch (I guess FCMP is either there, or based on it?) turned out to be beyond my current skill set (C++ / CMake is not something I do day to day) :(

<anon_contributor_xmr> If someone could help me figuring out how to setup the build correctly for that, I would be very grateful, and hopefully would be able to take it from there :) But otherwise, I am currently focused on making a working build using monero-oxide

<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Well, we'll be be branching v0.19 from monero's master branch soon. Are you saying that master doesnt work "seamlessly"?
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Or that fcmp branch doesnt?
-
br-m
<anon_contributor_xmr> I had tried building using master branch and had no success. I do not remember exactly what I have tried, I think it was guix build, where I had missing symbols problem regardless of whether I tried to just copy every .so built or hand pick what seemed to be needed

<ofrnxmr> How do you build release? Gitian/depends?

anon_contributor what is your codeberg account name? You can make a PR to montero-project/monero

<anon_contributor_xmr> plowsof: My codeberg account name is acx
-
br-m
<anon_contributor_xmr> Sorry I do not get it, what PR are you talking about?
-
plowsof
If you wanted to PR a patch, otherwise ignore
-
br-m
<anon_contributor_xmr> Ah no, I do not think it would help, as IIRC this patch does not work on master either, this is why I was trying to build with guix (well, also to get reproducible builds)

monTero-project? Really?
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> sech1 yes, its an unofficial bridge written by 2 Actual Indonesian developers
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> monero-project is a protected name space on codeberg for good reason, and the bridge is currently poling github rather than using the webhook integration, they should re-write it in rust probably

br-m
<syntheticbird> how did I not hear about this bridge
-
br-m
<syntheticbird> or rather i should maybe thanks these 2 devs for making it after the discussion in the dev channel

<jpk68:matrix.org> It makes sense because the Montero cap protects you from the weather and Monero protects your privacy
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> See, this is not a contrived analogy :P

<r4v3r23> @jpk68:matrix.org did you get the DM?
-

<jpk68:matrix.org> No, not sure why

<thefincker:matrix.org> Hey, I'm one of the founders of MoneroSwap (moneroswap.net) — non-custodial, no-KYC Monero swaps, open source, warrant canary, listed on kycnot.me. We're early and looking for a privacy-native person to help with our X/Nostr community presence (honest replies, our voice). Volunteer for now, but I'd make it worth your time as we grow. You seem like you get the space. DM me!
