<tobtoht> I don't think we should allow third party hardware integrations in the main repo. We can set up a generic USB interface, and if a vendor wants to offer Monero support they can go ahead and implement that. We have given Trezor/Ledger way too much leverage over our code and dependencies.

<mrcyjanek0:matrix.org> ^ fully support tobtoht on that one, we tried a few integrations of the new protocol and keeping the minimal scope ensures that monero is portable and anyone can use it the way they want and we also get less LOC to maintain.

<mrcyjanek0:matrix.org> Konsti and I from tried multiple ways of integrating trezor (and still have ledger integrated by just registering a dummy USB device…), and it’s definitely more portable and maintainable when we just get the data we need and we can just pass it to the hardware wallet using whatever is available on the OS we target.
