<c​3r3brum:matrix.org> Hello folks, I was interested in working on a issue that looks like it was accidentally submitted to the GUI team: monero-project/monero-gui #4517 The issue is related to support for newer Trezor hardware devices that use their updated Trezor Host Protocol instead of the communication protocol used by their older devices.

<c​3r3brum:matrix.org> The trouble is with how to do it. Trezor's recommended solution is to use their software, which has an API that allows other applicaitons to interact with the key.

<c​3r3brum:matrix.org> Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, this API only has binding points for Javascript or Python, which is not too appealing since the existing Monero code base doesn't seem to be already using such things.

<c​3r3brum:matrix.org> I also found the protocol specification documentation on Trezor's github page, so we also have all the info needed to implement the new protocol in C++ to integrate with the current Monero code base better. I do have some experience writing protocol implementations. However, it's been almost 20 years since I wrote much C++ for multiple platforms (most of my professional work was i<clipped message>

I need something for Android, as I own no Windows. Win11 made sure of that.

mining on windows is garbage anyway because of Ring0 being blacklisted by MS, but mining on android is even worse if your CPU is a literal potato
