i have 2 last questions for you. It turns out verifying the hashes using the terminal is a lot more easier than I initially thought.

selsta: First question. Do I save the binaryfate.asc file as a .txt file ?

Second question : Is it really necessary to download the binaryfate.asc file ? what does this file do exactly ?

verifying the hashes is easy, verifying the signature is more complicated

it doesnt say anything about verifying the signature on getmonero.org....

it shows as a plain text file on my mac

i just did, but my mac is still showing it as a 'plaintext' file
