selstaif you have time :D

moneroextremist[No one answered my question lol :(
-
moneromoooLooking at the backlog, is your question "can Eve tell I'm a repeat customer" basically ?
-
moneromoooIf so, if you repeatedly include in your rings to Eve the change Eve sent you back, then she cannot know for sure, but it's pretty good circumstancial evidence.
-
moneromoooEspecially if the change is old.
-
moneromoooIf the second customer were a random other person, you'd expect the rings to be composed of outputs taken on the chain with the appropriate gamma distribution.
-
moneromoooSo the chances that an output Eve sent you are not huge, but quite possible, especially if the change output is new.
-
moneromoooIf you do this repeatedly, the probabiliyt of it being just chance decreases.
-
moneromoooFor this reason, the wallet should try to avoid sending back change from another send to the same address. It does not do this currently, and I never got around to it.
-
moneromoooDoes this answer your question ?
-
moneromoooI will try to see if I can do something. It's been on my list for way too long.
-
moneroextremist[<moneromooo> "Does this answer your question ?" <- yes thank you
-
moneroextremist[selsta: Any chance you ever introduce churning to the Monero GUI, just like they do in Feather Wallet. Ty.
-
moneromoooIt isn't clear churning is good. In some cases, it is actually worse than nothing AFAIK. So since it also spams the chain, it's not sure we actually want it.
-
moneromoooBut I've worked on preventing sending change back to the same recipient, I'll PR that soon.
-
moneromoooOnly a single level, it could do more but it gets more complicated, so it can be improved later.
