<chch3003:monero.social> Hello! My Monero GUI on MacOS is always freezing and not responding every time I close the app. Are you aware of it?
-
dEBRUYNE
chch3003: How are you closing the Monero GUI software exactly?
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I think I tried both with the top right X icon, and through the menu
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> My setup is an external SSD and a Trezor
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> In case it matters
-
dEBRUYNE
Are you using the latest version of the GUI?
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:monero.social> Have you tried w/o trezor to see if the same behavior is present
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I downloaded the latest version today. Now it is syncing and I will see if it does it again.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> But that's an issue I always had, like for the last 2 years. I am surprised you don't heard of it
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I didn't try without Trezor
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I could try but I am afraid of screwing up my setup
-
dEBRUYNE
chch3003: Please let us know if the latest version fixed the issue!
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:monero.social> Its been happening for 2yrs, something makes me doubt that 18.3.4 fixed it 🙃
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:monero.social> Unless janaka (chch) was running a very old version (ive seen similar issues on ~18.0.0 versions)
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> No no I was just running the previous version
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I think I think found an other bug
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I think I just found an other bug
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> Very serious one
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I hope it is just a UI issue
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I just made a transaction. The transaction details is wrong. And my new balance is wrong.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> And my Trezor is unresponsive, dead
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I just made a transaction. My new balance is wrong.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> In my transaction history I see some transactions with "unknown amount"
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I restarted the GUI. It exited successfully (yay!) and my balance is correct now
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I still have some incoming transactions with "Unknown amount"
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I have my life savings in this you know...
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> (yes it is retarded)
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> It is extremely stressful to have balance bugs
-
m-relay
<321bob321:monero.social> Mac logs?
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> Yes, how should I send it?
-
m-relay
<321bob321:monero.social> Privatebin and remove any personal info
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I think the issue is that I had to confirm refreshing the "state of things" on my trezor.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I see that my balance is wrong.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I check my trezor but it seems dead, not responsive, then I realize it was not properly plugged.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> It unplugged after making the tx.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> So, I replug the trezor, restart the GUI, it asks me to confirm the refresh (don't remember the phrasing), then it's ok correct balance
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> So maybe the problem is on my side, would have not happened if trezor was not unplugged
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I don't see any logs regarding the transaction I made or any bug. Even though log level is set to 4.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> Ok I making a new tx.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> After making the tx I get a notification on trezor "do you really want to export tx_key?"
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I click yes. Balance is correct.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> But I don't see the tx in tx history. Only if I click to sort by blockheight or date I can see the pending tx.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> To conclude, my balance bug was that trezor was unplugged right after making the tx and I didn't export the tx_key. I suppose it screw up the balance state.

m-relay
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> Ok, my bug when quitting the app is still hapening
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I clicked "quit" from the menu this time
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> It doesn't log anything
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I clicked "quit" from the mac menu (at the right of Apple logo) this time
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> When I quit by clicking the top right X it ask me if I want to force stop the local node or keep it running
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I click force stop and it quit properly
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> So, the bug happens only when quitting from the menu, it doesn't ask me to stop the local node, it just freeze the app and I have to force quit.
-
m-relay
<chch3003:monero.social> I hope it is helpful
-
selsta
chch3003: it's a known bug, but I was never able to reproduce it on my Mac systems
