m-relay_<neospal2:matrix.org> I have Flatpak on my Ubuntu. How do I invoke it to install the "monero-linux-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2" that appears in my Home directory. as an alternative would the command "sudo dpkg -i ./monero-linux-x-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2" also work for the wallet install? Will I get an executable icon on my screen that I can use to open the wallet? 🥴 I am OLD and I appreciate your patience and assistance.

m-relay_<jpk68:matrix.org> You don't need to deal with Flatpak for now, you already have it downloaded
-
m-relay_<jpk68:matrix.org> As ofrn said here, you just extract the folder and run the program. No need to install it :)
-
m-relay_<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> If u have flatpak, just search for monero in gnome software or whatever you use
-
m-relay_<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> This as well. You dont need to use the flatpak, you can hust run the executable.
-
m-relay_<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Yes, there is a prompt to add a launcher icon on the first run.
-
m-relay_<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> the flatpak will add the launcher icon automatically, if you decide to use the flatpak

m-relay_<neospal2:matrix.org> I entered "tar -xjf monero-linux-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2" at the command line but I did not get any response. so I tried "sudo dpkg -i ./monero-linux-x-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2" and received this reply: "pkg: error: cannot access archive './monero-linux-x-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2': No such file or directory" the tar.bz2 file appears in my Home directory so I did not change the directory p<clipped message>

m-relay_<neospal2:matrix.org> rior to entering the command (don't know what I would have changed it to anyway). Maybe I will just try double clicking the icon that precedes the monero tar.bz2 file. I don't want to impose upon any more of your time today so I will just try that and let it ride the rest of the day and start fresh tomorrow.

m-relay_<neospal2:matrix.org> I went to the monero-linux-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2 file in my home directory and clicked the icon prededing this file name. to my surprise it opened a list of options one of which was "Extract". I selected this and the system proceeded to act on it. I then did a search for monero in the list of apps and found the Monero wallet there. I clicked it and selected the "install" option.
