m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> Any plan for Monero Gui Wallet GT6 edition?
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> After FCMP or?
-
m-relay<rbrunner7:monero.social> GT6? Do you mean Qt6? And well, what would be the core benefits of such an edition?
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> Yes, Qt6 indeed
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> Qt5 is going byebye
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> Gentoo don't have qtxmlpatterns anymore
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> And there going to ditch more part soonish
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> Arch is going to deprecate some soonish
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> Qt5 is abandonware, they apparently don't accept new patch so... If new issues are found, it won't be fixed

tobtohtravfx: as far as the build system is concerned, we can make the switch to qt6 relatively easily once we have guix on monero's release branch. qt6 package definitions can be copied from feather (with the addition of qt quick) and reproducible builds infra can be borrowed from the monero submodule.
