<sech1> "Top 2 pools no longer have 50+%:..." <- indeed nice to see p2pool picking up steam
-
mechanic41turk[m
contrast its success with its non-existent effect in bitcoin mining sphere.
-
gingeropolous
some beast joined p2pool huh
-
DataHoarder
yep, a few days ago
-
DataHoarder
see this gingeropolous
p2pool.observer/miners
-
hyc
my p2pool has 183 peers
-
hyc
or, sees 183 peers in peerlist
-
hyc
so that page implies you need 50+kH/s to play now
-
hyc
and p2pool just found 2 blocks in a row
-
sethsimmons
What do you mean "play"?
-
sethsimmons
I have ~30kh/s and get shares daily or more frequently.
-
hyc
to mine with chance of a reward
-
hyc
or, the estimated hashrates are just bogus
-
sethsimmons
Solo?
-
sethsimmons
I'm not sure what you mean -- those are just 6h windows anyways, so hitting 1/4 windows is still a share (along with many payouts) per day.
-
sethsimmons
That's still more frequent than most pools.

DataHoarder: is there a way to easily see total paid out Monero for a given miner from p2pool.observer?
-
sethsimmons
Would be a cool stat for people to be able to view.
-
DataHoarder
Soon sethsimmons
-
sethsimmons
nioc: Nice, 10h 54m 40s for me once I get my last rig up and running.
-
DataHoarder
hyc: as the header of the page says it takes into account current window
-
DataHoarder
A share doesn’t account to less than that given granularity
-
sethsimmons
DataHoarder: Nice, will send over a tip, have been meaning to 🙂
-
sethsimmons
Need a QR code on there 😉
-
DataHoarder
170MH/s divided by 2160 mostly give you what a share counts as
-
DataHoarder
sethsimmons: maybe with a CSS animation, or specific page for donations, have been keeping it static, not JS, none external assets
-
DataHoarder
And yes as mentioned you only need to hit a share every once in a while, it gets paid out
-
crypto_grampy[m]
DataHoarder: is there an onion address for the site?
-
sethsimmons
DataHoarder: OpenAlias works great, hadn't noticed that.
-
sethsimmons
That's more than enough.
-
crypto_grampy[m]
would be great to have 👀
-
DataHoarder
yes
-
DataHoarder
see bottom
-
DataHoarder
or open on tor
-
crypto_grampy[m]
oh excellent
-
DataHoarder
it will show on tor address bar as an onion alternative
-
sethsimmons
-
DataHoarder
I have been extending API as I go along TL;DR, “site” uses api behind the scenes, so technically whatever is show there can be used by you via API or if you setup a local instance
-
DataHoarder
It is open source, feel free to make your own, requires a few p2pool patches to export raw blocks out though
-
crypto_grampy[m]
Does xmrvsbeast support onion addresses?
-
DataHoarder
afaik no, but that would be nifty
-
sethsimmons
For your p2pool node or for browsing their site?
-
DataHoarder
For the raffle I assume
-
crypto_grampy[m]
node
-
crypto_grampy[m]
for the raffle
-
DataHoarder
people had luck using VPN that exposes specific ports however
-
DataHoarder
hyc: if interested there is an /api/stats/… endpoint now that shows miners per window / miners per last week across time, and also hashrate
-
DataHoarder
though it is WiP and not used on site, so it is not documented yet
-
DataHoarder
should be able to see a page with detailed (static) graphs soonish
-
crypto_grampy[m]
probably a dumb question, but can p2pool be used strictly over tor ?
-
crypto_grampy[m]
connecting to peers and such
-
DataHoarder
I tried initially, had some luck with torsocks
-
DataHoarder
be aware other p2pool peers might ban the external ip regularly for 10 minutes if they see weird disconnects or invalid data
-
DataHoarder
I might run a specific node that does not apply banning that is also reachable over tor directly, remind me over the weekend
-
DataHoarder
so worst case it can act as a bridge :)
-
DataHoarder
(but as mentioned, torsocks is the way at the moment)
-
sudo_ki[m]
Ahh data hoarder, just the guy. Great work on the installer, thanks. Can i ask one thing? Can you add a check box to the installer, so that if you already have the monero gui installed it points to the lmbd folder automatically?
-

-
sudo_ki[m]
Don't really know how to contribute with code, sorry
-
DataHoarder
sudo_ki[m]: it is in the works, alongs with more settings
-
DataHoarder
including also ways to pick pruned/not pruned etc
-
sudo_ki[m]
Good news :) thank you
-
gingeropolous[m]
there's an installer?
-
gingeropolous[m]
would be great to make a plugin / widget for the GUI
-
pauliouk
there's also a video coming shortly that'll go over the basics of installing it, and then some more details on tweaks if you have things setup already before installing :)
-
sudo_ki[m]
<pauliouk> "there's also a video coming..." <- Niceee
-
gingeropolous
only 850 mh/s more to go
-
gingeropolous
im betting a second p2pool is gonna have to start soon
-
nioc
8500 kW is all you need gingeropolous
