br-m<yushanren:matrix.org> CARROT seems to bring a lot trouble to wallet devs. Also, is there really anyone who owns XMR wants an auditor to see his/her balance?
-
br-m<jpk68:matrix.org> The benefit is to have light wallet servers that can fully scan the blockchain without having to access spend keys
-
selstaThere are various benefits. Just don't give your view key to an auditor if you don't want an auditor to see your balance.

br-m<yushanren:matrix.org> As a bank account, I can offer my transactions within a time range, not the whole transaction history. Is it possible?
-
br-m<yushanren:matrix.org> Even more, can I "withdraw" my coins within 2 hrs if I have sent it to the wrong address?
-
br-m<yushanren:matrix.org> That contradicts decentralization, but I think these meaningful.
-
br-m<yushanren:matrix.org> @jpk68:matrix.org: this makes sense, bc i want to see my balance as fast as possible
-
br-m<vtnerd> @yushanren:matrix.org: You can do this now with lws backend and lwcli/skylight wallet. Or just fully trust edge wallet.

br-m<fireine:matrix.org> ai slot makes it hard to know what is trivial and what is non-trivial.

br-m<fireine:matrix.org> perhaps if they are idiots. > <@yushanren:matrix.org> CARROT seems to bring a lot trouble to wallet devs. Also, is there really anyone who owns XMR wants an auditor to see his/her balance?

br-m<rucknium> No need to call people idiots. I've raised the threshold for sending messages in the room on the Matrix side to power level 10 temporarily. Feel free to move discussion to #monero-research-lounge:monero.social .
