what kind of services do you want in monero but do not have enough of?
-
WinslowEric[m]
Atomic swaps.
-
maybefbi
need a hard fork to make it easy. we need scriptless script. or DLSAG. but both need hard fork
-
moneromooo
How about a forkless fork ?
-
moneromooo
About the kind of services, anything selling stuff online.
-
moneromooo
Even if you have to get them your shipping address, it still cuts bank and card issuer out of the privacy invasion business.
-

moneromooo, I used to have a monero only shop. I shut it down because it was on shopify and it was costing me more than the sales on it. If I do it again I will do self-hosting because that is cheaper.

cornfeedhobo
a produce wholesaler that can pay the producers in coin and targeting areas with large migrant worker populations
-
cornfeedhobo
a little research on the subject shows they net a predictable 20%. all that is needed is for someone that sees the connection between paying farmers, workers getting paid in coin, and direct remittance

o/ I'm trying to use "make_integrated_address" function without payment_id. But error returns: "message": "Payment ID shouldn't be left unspecified" . On the monero website it says optional input for it. (payment_id - string; (Optional, defaults to a random ID) 16 characters hex encoded.)
-
moneromooo
It is indeed optional. Something broke I guess.
-
moneromooo
Or that message looks like RPC. Maybe RPC never worked this way. I'll check.
-
moneromooo
Yes, pointless test after generating one.
-
moneromooo
Look for a patch on github in 10 minutes, after I checked this compiles.
-
NakedKing
moneromooo, i have second question. How can the receiver check payments with specific payment_id ?
-
moneromooo
Ask a more precise question.
-
moneromooo
I think you're asking "how can I check whether I received a payment with a given payment id", is that correct ?
-
moneromooo
If so, you can call get_bulk_payments with that payment id and the height at which you last checked.
-
moneromooo
Or 0 if you want to check overall rather than incrementally.
-
NakedKing
Yes, that is what i look for. Thanks you.

NakedKing
Is this normal? I've used a primary address on another account_index for "make_integrated_address" and it returned with error= "message": "Subaddress shouldn't be used" . Can we say subaddress for another accounts primary address?
-
moneromooo
By primary address, do you mean standard address (ie, the first one in a wallet, starting with 4 (for mainnet)) ?
-
moneromooo
If so, the code looks ok. You probably used a subaddress.
-
NakedKing
I'm not have info about mainned. Working on stagenet. 75uwuVEhS2AP3..... (account_index = 1, address_indices = 0) not worked. 521abbBYdGfPTJ18jLgnk4fjc... (account_index = 0, address_indices = 0) worked
-
moneromooo
The payment id patch's up, 8213.
-
NakedKing
if i cant use another accounts on same wallet for "make_integrated_address" it seems useless for me. I need to find subwallet logic
-
moneromooo
Yes, subaddresses are prefered to integrated addresses.

what is the best way to buy xmr for btc?
-
jjakob
I'm gonna try atomic swaps
github.com/comit-network/xmr-btc-swap (but I wouldn't say it's the best way, read the issues)
-
jjakob
I haven't tried it yet, so.
-
kayabaNerve
jjakob: I don't belive it's maintained, which would explain that
-
jjakob
right.
-
runfox
I was going to give fixedfloat a try, but i found a reddit thread saying they accept xmr for other coins but don't let you get xmr, and recommend siteshift which I have never heard of.
reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/nglwwn/fixedfloat_xmr
-
kayabaNerve
Not atomic, of course
-
kayabaNerve
Farcaster is still on testnet though, so COMIT is THE option there and should be reliable enough
-
nioc
on CMIT it seems to be easier to buy btc with xmr than to buy xmr with btc :D
