MimbleWimble by itself is more a scalability fix than a privacy fix

and brings its own set of challenges to maintain privacy. Beam have done some work to attempt to mitigate that, but I haven't seen much in the way of real research into it.

they are untraceable on the blockchain. they are still traceable on the wire. i.e., it is still possible to trace with active surveillance littlebobeep

so i think an effective "marketing" strategy, in due time, will be to go around to shops that have "bitcoin accepted here" on the fronts, and show them how their bitcoin activity is traceable.
