Hi i am thinking in creating a monero bet game is going to work like this:
-
betcryptocr[m]
You can should to bet for a number from 00 to 99 if the number you choose is the winner, we are going to pay you 50 times the amount you bet and if for example you choose the 40 but the winner is the 04 you also win but only 10 times the amount you bet
-
betcryptocr[m]
What do you think about the game ?
-
betcryptocr[m]
ย
-
betcryptocr[m]
s/should/choose/
-
yeji-weji[m]
betcrypto.cr: i wouldn't play it
-
betcryptocr[m]
why not ? it has really good odds
-
betcryptocr[m]
we are also going to donate 2% of all earning to the monero general fund
-
betcryptocr[m]
s/earning/earnings/
-
plowsof11
is this the lottery ticket site or another project
-
betcryptocr[m]
we are going to change our lotto system for that one
-
betcryptocr[m]
so is more fair
-
plowsof11
monero.win is fair i think (you bet on the hashes of monero blocks)
-
betcryptocr[m]
Yeap but don't pay 50 times the amount you bet
-
betcryptocr[m]
and also don't pay you if you are near the number
-
betcryptocr[m]
So if you buy a ticket for the number 40 and the winner is the 04 you also win
-
RavFX[m]
If it pay you a lot 50x then even pay you if you get wrong number, how it make enough money to pay winner and make some profit for the house?
-
plowsof11
everybody wins , its a no brainer
-
betcryptocr[m]
RavFX[m]: no everyone wins
-
yeji-weji[m]
define 'near' a number? 40 is not near 04 to me
-
RavFX[m]
probably because reversed number, 4 0 , 0 4
-
betcryptocr[m]
yeji-weji[m]: I mean backwards
-
RavFX[m]
but still, it pay the one that have reversed number 10x and the winner 50x.
-
RavFX[m]
so you need a lot of looser to get that running
-
betcryptocr[m]
Yes we have a lot of XMR
-
betcryptocr[m]
to cover the first months
-
betcryptocr[m]
And we the current amount of users we have is still profitable for us
-
betcryptocr[m]
RavFX[m]: Yes reverse number so if you bet for the number 50 and the winner is the 05 you still win but only 10 times the amount you bet
-
RavFX[m]
nice, but still not going to send xmr for a 1/50 odd to win
-
great_taste
how's the number picked?
-
great_taste
sounds boring as hell anyways
-
betcryptocr[m]
great_taste: Costa rica national lottery
-
betcryptocr[m]
we are going to use their result
-
RavFX[m]
I miss the Minko we use to have, nice odd, fun to play (not just choose a number kinda thing).
-
RavFX[m]
I use to make it rain with ton of TX ๐... Until they increased the minimum bet size
-
RavFX[m]
* ton of multi-output TX ๐...
-
great_taste
is there any competitive game where you can bet crypto? like online chess or pool
-
betcryptocr[m]
<RavFX[m]> "nice, but still not going to..." <- ok well if you chance your mind we are going to allow bets from $1 to $90
-
betcryptocr[m]
The game is going to be available soon

Anybody here using Moneropay?

Me and Stnby use it. We are also the ones who created it.
-
westrom[m]
<Siren[m]> "> <@westrom:matrix.org> Anybody..." <- Awesome! I'm glad to know it exists. I also found another called bitcart. I have a lot more faith that I'll save on costs with a service written in go though.

You can definately use MoneroPay if you want to have a large window of customizability. Otherwise you can take a look at our CCS PoC for a user friendly checkout system MetroNero (
repo.getmonero.org/monero-project/ccs-proposals/-/merge_requests/353) don't forget to upvote.

Kill all CEXs, use the DEXs

What holdings? We buy and withdraw
-
RavFX[m]
Yep, but some people did not get it yet and use crypto like they use the old system, keep everything out of there own custody.

Quick Q: anyone here got their phone encrypted?
-
elkravo[m]
Yeah why
-
speedyswede
I'm looking to do it and just need a few pointers!
-
speedyswede
Great btw!
-
speedyswede
So I've done my pc with veracrypt, what'd you do to your phone?
-
speedyswede
How does it function now?
-
plowsof11
the old "Quick Q" strikes again
-
speedyswede
Hahaha
-
speedyswede
Alright yeah fair. I only would like to know what you used?
-
elkravo[m]
I'm on grapheneos and I believe its default
-
elkravo[m]
But most android I've used, maybe even Aosp these days, had the option somewhere in settings
-
-
elkravo[m]
Just search encrypt in settings
-
speedyswede
Is this like audited legitime law-enforcement stumped encryption?
-
speedyswede
Elkravo[m]
-
elkravo[m]
Can't speak to AOSP, but I trust graphene.
-
elkravo[m]
If you're that worried it also has a way to automatically reboot the device if not unlocked after x hours
-
elkravo[m]
Therefore re encrypting everything
-
speedyswede
Hmm just seems to easy and good to be true haha
-
elkravo[m]
-
elkravo[m]
if you want to read more
-
speedyswede
This easy to evade a phone warrant scan?
-
elkravo[m]
what do you mean
-
speedyswede
I mean a setting
-
speedyswede
Seems to easy, on pc you gotta download veracrypt or the like. Hoodo shit
-
elkravo[m]
yeah
-
elkravo[m]
its much easier on phones
-
elkravo[m]
phones are more secure than PCs from the get go
-
speedyswede
Oh really? I was thinking the opposite but then again I don't know shit haha
-
elkravo[m]
i know i was surprised too when i learned that, most people are
-
speedyswede
I've got a oneplus, lemme check
-
speedyswede
Yeah haha
-
speedyswede
Feels like it's gotta be a glorified screenlock
-
elkravo[m]
things like permissions, app sandboxing and encryption, user profiles etc. make it so
-
speedyswede
Will stop your little brother but not your local highschool IT-admin
-
speedyswede
Yeah o figured!
-
elkravo[m]
depends doing what
-
elkravo[m]
if they cant decrypt the phone they cant read its contents
-
elkravo[m]
which i thought it what you wanted
-
speedyswede
Exactly yeah,i want it encrypted
-
speedyswede
Not just gated
-
elkravo[m]
they can steal your phone, breakin into the file system, they still cant read anything
-
elkravo[m]
if they dont have your pw to decrypt it
-
speedyswede
My man life's good
-
speedyswede
Thanks a bunch. Checking now
-
elkravo[m]
if you wanna go extra paranoid, create a secondary user profile (search multiple profiles in settings)
-
elkravo[m]
shut down the profile when you dont need it
-
elkravo[m]
and it will be encrypted separately too
-
elkravo[m]
so if your phone is stolen and broken into, they not only need the first pw to decrypt your phone, they have the extra step of having to break into your second profile with yet another pw/pin
-
elkravo[m]
If you really want phone privacy and security (which is important because bad security = privacy steps dont matter)... cant recommend GrapheneOS enough. I'm a total shill
-
elkravo[m]
Because ive tried countless android OS and ROMs for over a decade
-
speedyswede
My phone doesn't appear to support any encryption by default:(
-
elkravo[m]
you said it was OnePlus? which one
-
elkravo[m]
and custom rom or stock?
-
speedyswede
Yeah i could switch to grapheneOS ? I've heard they're good for that
-
speedyswede
Nord2
-
speedyswede
All default systems
-
speedyswede
I got it because i knew you could mess with it
-
speedyswede
But uh, never got around to it
-
speedyswede
So i switch roms? Possible for a layperson? ๐
-
elkravo[m]
Sadly grapheneos is only for Pixels atm
-
elkravo[m]
CalyxOS doesnt seem to support nord2 either
-
speedyswede
Darnet! But thanks for looking into it, very kind
-
elkravo[m]
im sure youre not alone with those issues, so im sure theres nerds out there whove figured some stuff out
-
elkravo[m]
you can look into DivestOS, it took a lot of hardening from graphene, but has a lot more compatible devices
-
speedyswede
Perhaps there's other roms I could browse for ๐ผ
-
elkravo[m]
but im not sure how layman friendly it is
-
elkravo[m]
also might have issues running SOME google apps
-
speedyswede
Ah sheesh theres the shades of gray
-
speedyswede
Might have to do the ol security v usability after all
-
elkravo[m]
yeah
-
elkravo[m]
reason i love GOS is i can recommend it to laypeople too
-
elkravo[m]
just install sandboxed google play, use google apps normally
-
speedyswede
And in this day and age, smh but alright at least it seemed to good to be true hah
-
elkravo[m]
gplay etc. are all sandboxed, have no extra permissions compared to normal apps, you can toggle every perm
-
elkravo[m]
so laypeople who still want em can just install sandboxed google apps and use phone as usual
-
speedyswede
Yeah my next phone might finna go that route
-
elkravo[m]
and its still more secure and private
-
speedyswede
Shouldn't be a tough ask!
-
speedyswede
Hehe
-
elkravo[m]
yeah with pixel 7 out, the 6 and 6a might get cheaper if you keep an eye out
-
speedyswede
Alright will do. I'll duckduck around for suitable conclusions, thanks a ton for your help sir
-
speedyswede
Very kind of you to take the time
-
elkravo[m]
no worries
-
elkravo[m]
surprised to hear nord2 cant be encrypted, that sounds wrong
-
speedyswede
Maybe it's also file-based encrypted from start like the oneplus 6?
-
speedyswede
-
elkravo[m]
yeah was gonna say, i wonder if its just semantics
-
elkravo[m]
like it cant encrypt from the settings menu, but in other ways instead, or by default
-
speedyswede
Yeah exactly
-
elkravo[m]
but i cant help there, not too familiar with the more recent OnePlus
-
speedyswede
It seems reasonable. I'll look into it!
-
Bouska
Hello everyone!
-
djsigmann
Evening.
-
djsigmann
Is it alright to ask for a little help in this channel?
-
speedyswede
Yep i just did and got a LOT
-
nioc
yes but it's not ok to ask to ask lol
-
djsigmann
fair enough.
-
speedyswede
Nope one strike rule. Sorry kid
-
speedyswede
Joking aside
-
djsigmann
uh oh, I messed up big time
-
nioc
just rub the lamp, I think it will give more wishes
-
djsigmann
anyways, how does p2pool's --config work? I.e what should the config file's syntax be? I keep getting an "Invalid wallet address." Error message.

I made a force reboot that made my wallet cache corrupted (?), I get a "Error: failed to load wallet: invalid signature" with monero-wallet-cli. How can I restore/read that cache (I made a new one that works but don't have all my data in it)?

has to be a main wallet address beginning with 4
