a remote node is simply a remote node, no local daemon involved

B) $HOME/.icons (from the archwiki) works too, but that folder doesnt exist on Ubuntu by default. Maybe gui needs to check for and create the folder?

So I went looking for where userspace apps store their icons on ubuntu, and it appears to be A.

Both a and b work though - adding the icon to either of those folders

If the accusations against Binance et al. are true, Bitcoin and Monero are already fractionally reserved. Blockchains do not prevent people giving up custody of their coins. It's called "free banking". I think _The Bitcoin Standard_ discusses this.

People are stupid now, and trust third parties when they don't need to. Let some time elapse for these entities to mis-use and abuse customer trust and then get caught doing it in more aggrecious manners and eventually people will figure out it's worth the effort to hold their own coins privately and secure themselves against fraud.

Actually allow me to refine my view, it's possible that even in an enlightened future state crypto-banks exist for the purpose of lending out people's crypto for a profit then distributing some % of the profits back to the individual lender. They would exist for the sole purpose of facilitating lending to either consumers or producers. However people will eventually learn to be risk averse to trusting third parties to "hold" their

money.

I think eventually people will smarten up.

I bet the upcoming wealthy class will be libertarian cypherpunks that are privacy oriented to avoid expropriation on the market side, and entities that are the first to receive new bank credit and government spending on the other side (cronies and insiders).

Hi guys. I'm happy to report that basically, after two months of activity, when trading with Trocador you have a 0,05% to 0,15% chance of having your transaction flagged by exchanges. But even when flagged, we can intervene to help you deal with the exchange so your transaction is either completed or you are refunded without KYC. We currently have no reported case of a custumer having to go through KYC process.
