Hi. I just upgraded my mac to Ventura. Forst time I tried to open monero-wallet-gui and connect to my Ledger Nano S, I get a "wron channel" message. Has anyone seen this?

pbw[m]: make sure that ledger live, firmware and monero app are all up to date. monero app is opened and unlocked on your ledger and only monero-gui is open

if it still doesn't work try to restart your mac and use a different usb port

Thasnks for trhe suggestions. I checked for the latest versions of all the software, tries a different usb port, and eventually just retried a few more times and it connected.

I'd say "hoarding" in its most literal sense is not exactly great. It doesn't help the Monero economy so much. Using it as an investment is somewhat dangerous to the "investor", just as any stock investment can be dangerous, as its value compared to other currencies is outside your control; it's basically gambling.

It's reasonable to build up a cushion of savings, and to spend it in ways that contribute to a circular economy to help strengthen the utility of Monero as a currency (and replace what you spend from your Monero savings by converting some fiat to Monero).

A major benefit of Monero is its utility as a currency with privacy protections better than other digital currencies. Another is the fact it is not subject to being debased like fiat currencies. Assuming the internet continues to survive, its major weakness is the weakness that all currencies share: the potential for all trust in its value to evaporate. That can apply to USD, EUR, BTC, gold,

and pretty little seashells.

I will hoard monero and there is simply nothing you can do to stop me.
