what kind of fees could i be looking at to transfer $100 in xmr between two monero wallets?
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> Minimal. Like a penny or so

Does monero-cli support coin control beyond sweep_single? e.g. could you specify which utxo to use when sending?
-
moneromooo
You can select one or more subaddress to pick from. No more than that.
-
sech1
You can also set ignore-outputs-below and ignore-outputs-above to narrow down which outputs it can use
-
Inge
So beyond it not being supported, any reason why I shouldn't be able to say I want to send X romeros using outputs A, B and C?
-
moneromooo
Oooh, sech1 hits he jackpot :D
-
moneromooo
I think mostly to avoid people doing dumb things.
-
moneromooo
And "dumb" here includes subtly wrong things. Statistics is a bitch.
-
sech1
I use ignore-outputs-below to not spend too small outputs. I sweep them instead with "sweep_below" when there are enough of them.
-
sech1
Mostly p2pool payouts

Someone is mining to my donation address, so I have to workaround it somehow :D

anyone else running seed nodes getting a lot of these at log-level=1? "COMMAND_HANDSHAKE came, but process_payload_sync_data returned false, dropping connection."
-
gingeropolous
i dunno what it is.... but node sare only connecting to a seed node to get a list of peers, so the fact that these are connecting 10s to 100s of times and failing i figure isn't good
-
Inge
gingeropolous: what is your definition of a seed node?
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:monero.social> There is only 1 definition
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:monero.social> > <gingeropolous> i dunno what it is.... but node sare only connecting to a seed node to get a list of peers, so the fact that these are connecting 10s to 100s of times and failing i figure isn't good
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:monero.social> This is a seed node
-
gingeropolous
Inge, they are the hardcoded IP addresses that a new node will failback to in case the DNS peer list system fails
-
gingeropolous
867 bans lol
-
gingeropolous
interestingly, once blocked, they don't try again
-
gingeropolous
does anyone really think 867 IP addresses were trying to get peer lists to start a new node in the past hour?
-
sech1
can you check if these IP are some cloud instances?
-
gingeropolous
i started to fish through them, but i need like a geo locator python script or something
-
gingeropolous
sech1, pmd the IP list
-
Inge
My node has the same set of 4 subnets blocked every 2 hours
-
Inge
been like that all year
-
plowsof
-
lza_menace
gingeropolous: yes, i have a lot of those
-
lza_menace
turns out im dumb and didn't turn on log level 1
-
lza_menace
plowsof check again
-
plowsof
lza_menace: your clearnet+tor are online now, thnx, (assuming 88.99. is someone elses)
-
lza_menace
i added some health checks to check if they aren't running so hopefully that stops happening
-
lza_menace
idk why, monerod is solid as a rock everywhere besides this one VPS
-
gingeropolous
my whole dedi server died recently, only thing it does is monerod
-
gingeropolous
hence my log digging

<txswdz:matrix.org> If I can buy any coin except Monero on a KYC CEX, what's the most straightforward and cheap non-kyc method to trade it for Monero? I.e. which coin should I buy with cheap transaction fees, and which non-kyc exchange to transfer it to?
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> Buy XLM or stellaR USDC. Send to trocador
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> Tx fees aren’t even a fraction of a penny. Essentially 0
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> You might lose a dollar or twtouring the swap to Monero, but that’s about it.
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> I at least one or two intermediary wallets just so you don’t get your exchange account flagged your bandned
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> I recommend*
-
Inge
I miss xmr.to
-
m-relay
<txswdz:matrix.org> Huh, interested in how stellar has such low fees now. I guess it's centralized? Sounds good, thanks.
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> Pretty much. The core devs worked on xrp
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> They’re targeting banks just like ripple
-
gingeropolous
Inge, indeed
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> Probably USDC on stellar as opposed to just sending xlm. No idea where you’re located, but In the us it’s a taxable event
-
m-relay
<ranger_emdin:matrix.org> how do i get bitcoin anoymousely?
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> P2P and never sending it to a wallet linked to another wallet you’ve ever interacted with in any sort of KYC’d business.
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> Local bitcoin
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> agora desk
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> LocalMonero, then swap for BTC
-
m-relay
<ranger_emdin:matrix.org> i am trying to get BTC then swap it to XMR
-
m-relay
<ranger_emdin:matrix.org> thanks :D

m-relay
<ranger_emdin:matrix.org> citizen#01938472038: what is the best normie exchange?
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> I use Coinbase and Juno Finance (bank that also supports crypto)
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> Binance is good. But I can’t access the US one for some reason. Just make sure you self custody whatever you buy. The only one I remotely feel comfortable with leaving assets on is Coinbase, but never more than a few hundred.
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> I’d you don’t already have one, get a trezor or a ledger nano x
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> Trezor is one source tho so that’s a huge plus IMO
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> Mexc is good for leverage. 200x with no kyc 🤫
-
m-relay
<hunter-bidens-crack-dealer:monero.social> if you’re in a supported jurisdiction, KuCoin was my go to for buying XMR. Now I just swap everything using trocador.app, but over tor
-
m-relay
<ranger_emdin:matrix.org> citizen#01938472038: thank you :D
-
m-relay
<ranger_emdin:matrix.org> why coinbase? for a normie option i mean,
