<satoshi:matrix.harm0ny.is> I'm looking for a privacy-focused software for crypto asset management (and potentially for tax purposes). Haven't found anything on the web except recap.io. However it seems to be focused on UK customers. Hoping someone here has found anything otherwise it's back to spreadsheets for me. 😅

@satoshi, i use
github.com/scoobybejesus/cryptools, but i can see how most folks would rather use something more automated, and perhaps not have to build the program themselves

<jordan_sanchez:matrix.org> Do you mean trading like swapping coins, or do you mean marketplaces to purchase stuff?
-
m-relay
<jordan_sanchez:matrix.org> I am unfamiliar with this but something I've been meaning to look into.
-
m-relay
<jordan_sanchez:matrix.org> Here is some resources from the Bitcoin website, if I find something that works with Monero I will try to update you on that.

<satoshi:matrix.harm0ny.is> Got it. Yeah, I was hoping for some kind of visualization to get a more detailed and clear view of my transactions and wallets. Unfortunately, every product out there is freemium and proprietary or it's left to rot on github.

<satoshi:matrix.harm0ny.is> A lot of the links on the wiki are no longer valid, some of the sites are broken or something completely different now.
-
m-relay
<satoshi:matrix.harm0ny.is> Been looking all over the place, but it appears that what I'm looking for doesn't exist yet. So unless I or someone else builds it, it's either back to spreadsheets or back to using some proprietary freemium tool.

<satoshi:matrix.harm0ny.is> Given the history and popularity of crypto, I would've expected someone to already have built something, but oddly enough that doesn't seem to be case.

scoobybejesus
i mean, I have to aggregate all my crypto activity into a single spreadsheet, and i have to choose ahead of time whether i'll go with LIFO/FIFO/etc, but then it does all the hard work, and i have reports to show exactly what went where, what i own, and how much i made or lost.

cryptocurrency recordkeeping sucks no matter what
-
scoobybejesus
i prefer not putting keys into what is basically a bookkeeping/tax planning software, meaning i have to input all transactions manually

<venture4487:matrix.org> random question... with Seraphis and transaction chaining, will it be possible to build something like Lightning (I guess with PTLCs instead of HTLC)?
