it's mainly just tracking what happened in a given account. the key additional piece is the proceeds column. when trading, receiving income, or incurring an expense, you measure that in your home currency

and well, decentralized prediction markets were a real hope of cypherpunks in ~1990s

I think the fact that the monero community seems to be bottlenecked on bootstrapping circular economies seems useful for me to think about, which is where those books come in
