release branch will also be C++17 at some point in the futrue

selsta: Any other way besides logging into Github the only way to submit a Tor seed node?
-
seasharp
Worded that oddly, sorry. If it doesn't make sense lmk
-
selsta
you can also share the .onion address here
-
selsta
generally I would prefer seed nodes from users that have been around for a while, but I guess that will depend on if others submit something
-
seasharp
Yeah I'm sure its no fun to do PRs to deal with revolving cast
-
seasharp
I'll share one that is on a 6hr UPS (along with other stuff) once the full chain has synced. Dont know if it'll come in handy but I'll do what I can
-
seasharp
I've also been adminning systems for like a decade, fwiw. I'm sure that's nothing compared to some, but the skills would be relevant
-
selsta
seasharp: did you add a comment on GitHub or was that someone else?

Did you try that?

<aremor:matrix.org> Time to go see if there is panic in the BTC rooms

m-relay
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> why is r/monero liking mcafee, this guy is a drug dealer, murderer and rapist
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> They probably fantasize about being a rich rapist murderer on the run but in reality they're none of those things
-
m-relay
<mmxxx:matrix.org> do xmr users really take issue with drug dealing?
-
m-relay
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> do we?
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> good ol' media 👍
-
m-relay
<321bob321:monero.social> drugs dealers like cash
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> BusinessLive lol
-
BlueyHealer
mmxxx, I despise drugs and would never buy some (mostly out of fear though). But I do like that they exist. The drug dealers figure out the opsec for the good guys, the law enforcement has a strong motivation to break said opsec, and we grab some popcorn, watch and learn from all this.
-
nioCat
hi fellow criminals
-
BlueyHealer
Yes, it does stain Monero's reputation somewhat. But it gives motivation to both try to break and strengthen the technology, just as we need.
-
nioCat
I can't seem to be able to sleep tonight, thx 4 being here
-
m-relay
<mmxxx:matrix.org> Cash is bulky. You don't need tons of shoe boxes for xmr.
-
BlueyHealer
321bob321, do they even use cash? How would you transfer cash at all? In a "dead drop" like the drugs themselves?
-
BlueyHealer
Yea, but you can go buy groceries with it without taking a smartphone with you. Bulkiness was never an issue tbh.
-
BlueyHealer
Would there even be mehods of paying Monero physically without a phone/laptop?
-
uncle_rae
you mean the devices that all of use daily anyway?
-
uncle_rae
the shit that very few people leave the house without?
-
BlueyHealer
I mean that it is not at least mandatory.
-
BlueyHealer
I prefer not to, for example. This just feels wrong. There are exceptions but still.
-
BlueyHealer
That's why cash is king, and xmr is not comparable.
-
m-relay
<basses:matrix.org> terrorists like BTC and USDT
-
uncle_rae
terrorists love USD more
-
BlueyHealer
ye we get it they are fairly stupid anyway
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> Pretty sure terrorists exchange BTC in USD as soon as they get it
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> monero is the criminal coin
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> can't wait for a monero ban
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> or pay for monerochan to use it's magic and make the BTC untracable
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> Monero ban is good for monero 🤷
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> keeps going to 0 against btc. bans make it go to 0 faster
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> XMR is designed to lose it's value over time to maintain healthy economy
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> monero and economy in the same sentence is a joke
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> monero only functions for criminals. all monero users need to wake up before they get burned
-
m-relay
<321bob321:monero.social> welcome back
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> true, XMR is more stable
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> 🤣

m-relay
<basses:matrix.org> yep, then get caught after blockchain spying firm report to the CEX
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> stable rugging
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> xmr is worse. using it makes you a criminal instantly
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> i am happy to be a criminal then~
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> i hope fcmp++ fails and monero ccs gets rugged again
-
m-relay
<basses:matrix.org> why you want it to fail tho 👀
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> why do you support criminals? if xmr fails, we can get rid of drug dealers, scammers and all of their shady money. all of it will go and the world will be a better place
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> $2 billion of illegal money out of the hands of criminals
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> defibeillegal: in all seriousness what's wrong with BTC that you are doing FUD in XMR? Projected to go down bcs of some bs?~
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> i hate all crypto
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> Which so far proved as a great strategy :D buy monero whenever the BTC kids start crying about banning it
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> why
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> bitcoin is bad but not worse than monero. bitcoin and ethereum is financial fraud. monero is drug dealing, violence, terrorism and worse crime
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> you won't be allowed to buy xmr soon
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> Nothing monetarely close to the value of personal data and their use for criminality and you don't complain about that
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> monero is the #1 coin used by pedos
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> you all support pedos. disgusting people who deserve to lose everything if you invest into this
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> all the pedos accept BTC on the dark web and don't care about XMR

m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> monero will crash and burn. it has to and i trust the government to do the work necessary
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> Seems more like a honeypots used for data but i ain't that experience in that area and wouldn't care if they used XMR for that it ain't XMR's job to govern this activity
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> it's a real forum that was eventually busted. your conscience knows that this coin is dirty and illegal
-
m-relay
<basses:matrix.org> if you are a fed, then you are doing a terrible job
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> i'm just a citizen
-
m-relay
<basses:matrix.org> idc
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> you think i'm a fed because you're guilty of using monero
-
m-relay
<321bob321:monero.social> Rando leave the troll under the bridge
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> it's not monero's fault that people use it for illegal activity it's the government's job to mitigate these
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> the government will mitigate this by obliterating monero. there will be a movement against monero and it will be unstoppable
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> e.g. as a server provider you are supposed to monitor the services for illegal activity and enforce it
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> i like poking them~
-
m-relay
<defibeillegal:bitcoinist.org> normal, innocent citizens hate monero already
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> considering the support for monero across the EU and their political parties.. very unlikely
-
m-relay
<pcre:monero.social> If the current Bytecoin dies, wouldn't it make sense to rename Monero to Bytecoin? That would close the circle. What is your opinion on this?
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> wasn't bytecoin a scam
-
m-relay
<pcre:monero.social> True. This is why the Monero fork was created. It was a premining problem.
-
BlueyHealer
Guys, don't feed the troll. The wording makes it clear that the argument is bait.
-
m-relay
-
m-relay
<monerobull:monero.social> but he will ruin my reputation

<ctrej:matrix.org> >potential conversion
-
m-relay
<ctrej:matrix.org> So you're telling me chainalysis completely made up data and put it in a factual seeming diagram in order to prove a point to the suits? "Once criminals adopted XMR, their activity went through the roof!"
-
m-relay
<ctrej:matrix.org> pathetic
-
m-relay
<pcre:monero.social> --notify-at [0,1,2,3] default = confirmed
-
m-relay
<pcre:monero.social> 0, none
-
m-relay
<pcre:monero.social> 1, txpool
-
m-relay
<pcre:monero.social> 2, confirmed
-
m-relay
<pcre:monero.social> 3, unlocked ???
-
m-relay
<pcre:monero.social> Would a query for ‘unlocked’ be a useful feature? Although mnp is most likely only operated with a view key, so that sending with the status »locked = true« is not possible.
-
m-relay
<pcre:monero.social> Another question: Does monero-wallet-rpc --tx-notify have a privacy disadvantage? Like scan_tx called via rpc?
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> i would expect the price to be much more chaotic and XMR growing in value actually
-
m-relay
<5m5z3q888q5prxkg:chat.lightnovel-dungeon.de> but as it stands it's legally impossible to ban XMR in the EU
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> could you elaborate ?
-
m-relay
<aremor:matrix.org> How?
-
user19
hello
-
user19
Can anyone explain to me the effect of the 100KB transaction spam that has been happening recently? Is it a denial of service or deanonymization attempt?
-
StayWoke
user19, and further can anyone point me to any documentation as to whats actually going on/a write-up
-
user19
-
StayWoke
ty very useful
-
nioCat
it hasn't done either of those things and it it's difficult to tell cause..... monero
-
nioCat
that link is not about the 100kB txs
-
nioCat
was about many min size txs
-
selsta
user19: 100kB transactions can't be used for deanonymization
-
user19
Figured, just annoying.
