if you a transparent coin with questionable history, or wish to transact in large amounts that would otherwise trigger AML alarms in most centralised services/exchanges then atomic swapping is an option. it would become a problem when clients can perform checks on the transparent coin they are getting in return for their monero.

aaand we must not forget the whole trustless / anonymous thing which is another huge plus point

brings us back to the 7?% mark up iirc that knowledgeable swap providers add on to their obtained coins (presumable they have to mix them)

to make it sustainable and profitable
