-
viscous24
m-relay: I have Monero by Cake wallet, not cake wallet app which is multi-currency and bloated, but called monero by them

There is InviziblePro, you can get from f-droid:

hello all, is it common practice to switch to priority=unimportant ? if not, is there a fiscal reason why?
-
reverseengineer
hey quick question, is there any way to speed up sync? At 82% it's slow as a snail. Beginning sync was blazing fast
-
reverseengineer
I suspect that perhaps a slow node is halting the process.
-
reverseengineer
seen via the download speed*
-
m-relay
<snowman:tetaneutral.net> Sync percentage isn’t related to blockchain size. Just block number.
-
m-relay
<snowman:tetaneutral.net> Recent blocks are much larger than earlier ones but this has no relationship to sync percent other than making you think it’s syncing slowly
-
m-relay
<kevino:tchncs.de> yeah its normal to see that. Can't do much about it.

m-relay
<escapismgalore:matrix.org> are there any trusted bootstrap addresses to speed up syncing?
-
m-relay
<escapismgalore:matrix.org> it'll take probably a week or so to complete without
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> sync_info
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Its likely not a "slow peers" issue, and is likely a slow storage device
-
m-relay
<escapismgalore:matrix.org> it's really so i/o heavy? ok.
-
m-relay
<escapismgalore:matrix.org> not syncing to an ssd and explorer is lagging so, seems plausible.
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Type this into the terminal window that runs monerod

<basses:matrix.org> >When you connect to cellphone towers: You’re using the modem which has an IMEI identification number. Using a DeGoogled phone and a VPN does NOT change this from revealing info about the hardware TO the TOWER, such as where it was bought. And who bought it.
-
m-relay
<basses:matrix.org> >If you buy it in Monero, that solves the problem. But other DeGoogled providers charge more, while as we charge LESS:
-
m-relay
<basses:matrix.org> he literally doesn't know what IMEI is and how cell towers work
-
m-relay
<basses:matrix.org> buy it "anonymously" doesn't change the fact it still exists and ping to cell tower
-
m-relay
<basses:matrix.org> buying it "anonymously" doesn't change the fact it still exists and ping to cell towers
-
moneromooo
Your phone sends 16 IMEI numbers to the tower, one of which is yours, but the tower doesn't know which one. IF you call multiple times in a row, your phone picks 15 other fake IMEIs every time, allowing you to churn your calls and get more anonymity.
-
moneromooo
Shit. GPT: off.

m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> I remember when you could use an Xposed shitty module on old rooted phones to modify your IMEI (it worked)

<basses:matrix.org> root + old, IMEI should be your last concern
