<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> monerod wont even sync on his hdd. Does gyupax even manage monerod..?
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Totally, 100%, pure evil
-
m-relay
<plowsof:matrix.org> perhaps "Monerod is busy right now" and the gui is unable to communicate. im not sure if managing your local node is experimental addition and it may assume its fully synced and ready

hello
-
Guess65
it is better privacy wise to run monerod via via local onion service?
-
m-relay
<eddie:oblak.be> If you host the onion service yourself it's probably better than if you use someone else's that you don't fully trust
-
Guess65
nods

m-relay
<321bob321:monero.social> Muted the matrix ?
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 🤷♂️ maybe a pattern ignore
-
m-relay
<eddie:oblak.be> do you really think he'd figured that out considering how much time he needs understanding his problem is de hdd 😁
-
Guess65

Guess65

-
Guess65
monero 101 :)
-
m-relay
<eddie:oblak.be> I don't understand that question. U want to compile tor yourself?
-
Guess65
yep
-
Guess65
as a rep build
-
Guess65
this way it also avoid local libs fingerprinting
-
Guess65
avoids
-
m-relay
<eddie:oblak.be> probably possible but never done that myself
-
m-relay
<eddie:oblak.be> that's more tor 101 than monero 😄
-
Guess65

and for extra s iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp -d 127.0.0.1 --dport 9050 -m owner --uid-owner monero -j ACCEPT iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp -m owner --uid-owner monero -j REJECT ? This way it wont by mistake connect to any clearnet peers
