<ja4erp:lemox.xyz> “Does anyone know how I can sign up on monero.social? It tells me that registrations are disabled, but I’d like to know if there’s space for one more.

<riekak:matrix.org> Has anyone use
-

<riekak:matrix.org> citizen-erased.com?
-
br-m
<riekak:matrix.org> @ja4erp:lemox.xyz: Im pretty sure its just temporarily disabled due to maintenance, they haven't said why but it is disabled ATM so I think you just have to wait and keep checking
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Its been month if not years that its disabled
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Problem with open registration is that the homeserver eventually get aids. Is also why mine are also disabled (i will allow people i know from the chat or ask a payment)
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Asking for payment/donation for unknows is the best way to filter

BlueyHealer
Imagine if they were registering to learn how to purchase your first XMR in the first place...

BlueyHealer
I've also seen some Lemmy/Mastodon servers ask for short essays.

hey guys, I have a quick question about running a monerod node (docs were not much helpful here), is running with public-node 1 required to accept incoming peer connections? Right now I have 0 incoming connections, outbound connections are full (18080 port is open, and I'm running no-igd=1), I do not want to open a restricted rpc port since I'm not
-
max_farelli
sure I will maintain this node long term and I don't want to bother anyone.
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr> max_farelli: no, it is not
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr> You need to be able to accept incoming connections on your public ip address. Probably need to oort forward on your router
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr> Or can try removing --no-igd and see if it does it automaotically
