<ravfx:xmr.mx> Dont (can't) protect you more when the email come from an outsider and if you are sending to an outsider... So at the end it protect only proton -> proton and tuta -> tuta (well, technically, you don't know what backdoor they have).

<basses:matrix.org> @ravfx:xmr.mx: use instant messaging for senstive communication, problem solved
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> SimpleX Chat or Molly (Signal)
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> All of these are opensource, meaning if your been targetted by the state, they can probably get your data. (They have virtually unlimited token access and priority for whatever the best code understanding clanker of the day)
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Use tamper proof snail mail
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> for critical data
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> don't use the internet
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Or if you really want to use the internet. Use (hopefully) save encryption and make your software stack yourself, don't publish the code. You might gain some time if you get targetted
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> You can give the code to your peers, hopefully no one will leak it
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> use GrapheneOS and QubesOS
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> @basses:matrix.org: That's only the OS
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> If signal(molly) is compromished, it change nothing if your using windows XP or QubesOS
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> And you can be sure than some federal people are stuffing QubesOS and GrapheneOS in there clanker every time it get a revision. They probably accumulated a collection of zero days by now
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> That would be USA, Israhell, Russia, China, etc, etc
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> we were talking about email being bad
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> sure, your talking about QubesOS or GrapheneOS, that's no mail servers
-
br-m
<imprevisto:matrix.org> email is bad mmmkay
-
br-m
<321bob321> Tommmmmy used qubes with mail server

BlueyHealer
br-m: <ravfx:xmr.mx> Use tamper proof snail mail <- how can you do so? Mail can be opened very easily. Encode your messages in QR codes? That could make you suspicious when opened.
-
BlueyHealer
also imagine having latency of WEEKS
-
BlueyHealer
Taht could be a joke but still
-
BlueyHealer
Also yeah, while the sender could be obscured, the receiver is very much known and essentially KYC.
-
BlueyHealer
And for tamperproofing - that'd take just one "lol we opened your letter, what can you do about it" to put you in danger
-
br-m
<pyratevevo:matrix.org> Its more likely they'd get your ass through social engineering than through hollywood-level encryption breaking and highly hidden backdoors right in the middle of open code.
-
BlueyHealer
THIS
-
br-m
<imprevisto:matrix.org> you can make tamper-evident snail mail
-
BlueyHealer
Yeah, but how would that help? "Aye, they know my secrets and I will be arrested for it, but at least I know that's coming"?..
-
BlueyHealer
also again - WEEKS of latency
-

It looks like the funding proposal PR will be closed. Given that the reason is that the KES isn't compltely trustless -- there may be parties that find the trust compromises for some of the KES models acceptable and/or would be willing to fund some additional research into the topic. There were plenty of positive comments about Grease in the conversation -- could I kindly ask that some of those

sentiments are carried over into the PR? It would be unfortunate if potential funders looked at an abruptly rebuffed proposal and interpreted that as an outright rejection.

<pyratevevo:matrix.org> I don't think I can even post in 4chan. What a random comeback.

<rottenwheel:unredacted.org> Yeah, so random smh.

<pyratevevo:matrix.org> Okay.

<rottenwheel:unredacted.org> Oh noooessss they don't accept my shitcoin but accept ze jewish coinz, let's trash on the entire organization, missing decades of admirable battles for digital rights...

<gan:skhron.org> You can't prove that interloper is switching accounts either 🧌 > <@rottenwheel:unredacted.org> If you can't prove it... shut it.

nioc
EFF has been contacted several times about accepting monero, they never added as I assume they use a service to handle crypto and those services do not handle monero
-
BlueyHealer
tbh sending ANYONE to 4chan is bad manners, given the horrors that happen there.
-
br-m
<pyratevevo:matrix.org> nioc: Laziness should be criticised too.
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> Weird statement, horrors happen on the internet, not just any specific service
-
nioc
happy birthday monero!!

nioc
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> @pyratevevo:matrix.org: Indeed, indeed
-
nioc
don't be lazy :D
-
br-m
<pyratevevo:matrix.org> Would you rather be sent to 4 chan, or tiktok.
-
BlueyHealer
That's like comparing Scylla and Charybdis, so both should be avoided at any cost.
-
BlueyHealer
gan, 4chan apparently has more unmoderated shock content including porn.
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: Not really true per se, but this is a topic suited for the offtopic, I reckon

<yokoama:matrix.org> Has anyone tried to remove fake "monerogui wallet" on iOS store ? they are stealing user funds
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> @yokoama:matrix.org: we can't remove it from store, best thing is to report it and post about it on reddit and other social media so Apple takes it down
-
br-m
<yokoama:matrix.org> Let me rephrase, "has anyone tried to report..."

<aillia:matrix.org> does anyone know if @captaincanaryllc:matrix.org is okay? Someone mentioned they tried reaching out to him but have not heard back in over a month on multiple channels (XmrBazaar messenger, Simplex etc)...

The above wallet on apple store had some comments calling it a scam. They have now been deleted
