<berry.stiller-2w:matrix.org> Is there a place we can purchase premium subscriptions instead of using our own email address and payment details for subscription
-
br-m
<berry.stiller-2w:matrix.org> Like Netflix subscription
-
BlueyHealer
tbh would rather not pay for a subscription because you pay AND you get a worse service than those who didn't

<assholeorangecat:matrix.org> @berry.stiller-2w:matrix.org: Not sure what exactly you mean. I think you should be able to use a throwaway mail and pay for the subscription with maybe one of the virtual credit cards you can buy with monero or I think if you need netflix specifically I think you can buy gift cards for it.
-
BlueyHealer
I can't imagine paying for a service that restricts my quality to a potato because of DRM, and that can pull the show mid-watchthrough.
-
BlueyHealer
Granted, right now I'm watching a series in 480p because I had space concerns, and from afar on a smaller older TV it looks just fine... But for a paid service, I would want BETTER.

<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: wrong channel

<berry.stiller-2w:matrix.org> The virtual card that i know is revolut, and it has kyc > <@assholeorangecat:matrix.org> Not sure what exactly you mean. <berry.stiller-2w:matrix.org> Netflix is just an example. It could be any site. > <BlueyHealer> I can't imagine paying for a service that restricts my quality to a potato because of DRM, and that can pull the show mid-watchthrough.

<assholeorangecat:matrix.org> @berry.stiller-2w:matrix.org: I recommand you make a text file and research sites for your country specifically. All the sites have different policies and work only in specific countries. Some accept xmr directly some only other cryptos but you can buy them with xmr to keep privacy as long as they don't kyc or aml.

<ravfx:xmr.mx> Question : Is Monero-GUI regularly require Windows Defender exclusions, like Feather? I assume so, just to double confirm.
-
br-m
<assholeorangecat:matrix.org> it can happen as long as you verified the signature it should be fine to exclude it
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> ok, so I will keep the exclusion in the package I am making

<assholeorangecat:matrix.org> @ravfx:xmr.mx: not sure what you mean do you like install monero that many times that you need to make a package?
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> @assholeorangecat:matrix.org: on windows, ideally you want to install everything from the package manager, like you do on linux
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> that way you can upgrade all application with a one lienr
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Only difference is that the package don't include the software, but just a bunch of scripts.
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> script that download the installer from the official site and install it, uninstall it, and in monero/feather case, add inclusion for windows defender automatically (and remove these when uninstall occure)

<assholeorangecat:matrix.org> @ravfx:xmr.mx: I never did much on windows didn't even know windows had a package manager
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> you can use winget and/or chocolatey (yes, package available on both can be manager with both at the same time lol)
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> I do make chocolatey packages
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> I did that mainly to support feather because of the AV nightmare... But while I'm at it I can do it with more monero stuff
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> There we go!
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Well, after I fix that stupid encoding issue I noticed 😂
-

-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> I think I will call it "monero-gui-wallet" instead, like the exe
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Ok, finale release, without the copy pasta errors 😂
