I think we need to adjust something with power levels to get libera comments to show on matrix side, looking at that now

Either that or all this [m] join spam indicates an issue

[m] join/part spam has been around ever since matrix users first started joining irc years ago

I just added a filter in my irc client that hides all parts/joins of matrix users so I don't see it anymore

I don't understand this pull request

it is apparently the "safety feature" to the matrix irc bridge that does not allow messages from the irc side to be relayed to matrix via the "plumbed room" method unless all matrix users in the room have linked/joined to irc

and how do we get all users to join?

It seems libera requested this so that irc users's messages wouldn't be relayed and history leaked to people who weren't in the irc room, for privacy reasons

this hasn't been an issue in most other linked rooms so that's why I'm confused about the PR

I'm only aware of portal rooms working, and everyone at matrix tells me irtc messages not going through to matrix is by design for plumbed rooms

I personally don't really get the Libera privacy architecture aspect that seems to be forcing this one way issue(?) These are all public rooms anyways

we are using the bridge libera setup a homeserver for with matrix.org

libera will not likely let us run our own bridge

anyway, I don't fully understand it yet as we tried the brdige in other channels before and it works without issues

The rooms you mentioned, being smaller, perhaps have all matrix users joined to irc. That's my best guess for now

OK. Latest answer is that the joining of the matrix users to the irc channel is done automatically by the bridge

-community and -dev were just plumbed recently because execptions were made for them because of over 100 users on the matrix side

so they are still in process of "syncing", and when it is complete and all the users from the matrix room appear in the irc channel, messages from irc will relat to matrix

so it will just take a bit

And I can see selsta's comments on Matrix now, so that's a good sign :D

Yep, the last read receipts for a bunch of IRC users got triggered, and selsta's messages are coming through, so probably fully working given little number of users on IRC side

OK, I was only told -community and -dev, #monero makes sense to of course. Probably will need an exception for it too based on number of users on the matrix side, so may be a couple days

I can do an audit now that basically all the Matrix rooms are decoupled from freenode, so should be exclusively Matrix users to figure out if it's really 100+ or not
