theoretical limit is 2^32

but real limit is how much RAM you have

I don't know what you mean with storing

The more subaddresses get scanned for new transactions, the more RAM is required

I think 8-16GB is more than enough for more subaddresses than you will ever be able to use

delay in what? it only increases RAM usage, it doesn't increase sync time

creating the subaddresses initially takes some time but once they are created they only use RAM, don't need extra sync time
