i am not convinced we are 'that much' different. we can pretend we are, but i think that is probably just a form of denial.

oh, i don't know. i have seen some things pass through the CCS on the request of large/dominant/wealthy ecosystem players

admittedly though, i am not sure if the same sort of pressure has applied to the codebase (probably not)
