<pyxmr2025:mozilla.org> Since the code uploaded by 3RA was corrupted during compression, should I first build a functional website and finish the M1: Demo Development milestone later when he returns, or delete the M1: Demo Development milestone directly?

<sgp_> Small update: our TrueNAS P2Pool app now supports all three networks (Main, Mini, Nano):

How many times has a woman told you that she's not going to read your messages, yet she reads them all? Just me? Oh

jpk68 can you describe the user experience briefly of how you envision the i2p integration for the gui, and where (if any) automation would occur. Gingeroplous was concerned about noobs not being able to enjoy i2p usage, are they still accounted for in some way?
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> plowsof: Essentially, there will be a panel in the GUI for configuring SAM parameters, which are passed to the daemon in the backend. The user just inputs the port/address of the router (which are probably the default values anyways) and the SAM protocol creates/manages the tunnels itself.
-
br-m
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> Above is what the GUI part will probably look like. The image is an actual screenshot from the code I wrote for it (which is public)
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> Bitcoin Core also has SAM functionality (though not for the GUI wallet), and how it interacts with monerod is pretty much the same way
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> From a UX point of view, I strongly believe this would be superior to having embedded binaries (we have already established this), because SAM tunnels aren't supposed to be short-lived (as outlined in I2P docs) and the daemon can use existing ones. An embedded router would likely take a long time to establish connections, which would be pretty inconvenient
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> As for the experience for 'noobs', this is pretty much as good as it can get, IMO. Up-to-date docs are also part of the proposal (including migration guide(s) from I2P SOCKS)
-
plowsof
The noobs have i2p official docs to 'install' and 'setup' this? How much of this uses default running.services/ports?
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> pacman -S i2pd && systemctl enable i2pd --now
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> Then open the GUI and click 'connect'
-
plowsof
And the 2 categories of users will be accounted for, local monerod users, and those wanting to use remote servers?
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> Yes.
-
plowsof
Ok thanks
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> No problem :)
-
plowsof
Im still leaning on funding the entire proposal with the "not feasible" and "expired" bounty. Would be nice for gingeropolous to come round to the idea as 9/10 experts agree this is the ONLY way if integrating i2p.
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> Whatever's most convenient :)
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> That sounds fine, but StormyCloud/I2P can fund it as well
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> @plowsof i think its also sane to use the funds for review and enhancement, since ginger still wants an "embedded" daemon (like p2pool, even though it doesnt make sense, especially for i2p)

br-m
<321bob321> Does this included docs update
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> @ofrnxmr:xmr.mx: I2P and that's it (for now)
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> I can always change it, it's just a rough prototype
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> @321bob321: Yes, all details are on the CCS page
-
br-m
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> Also, if you're willing, an updated comment regarding your stance on the proposal after the changes would be helpful :)
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I'll leave my thumb before long
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> my main concern is like plowsof just alluded to -- the conflict with the bounty request. I think we should invalidate the bounty since i2p works like garbage when you dont run the router long-term
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> Yes, my point exactly
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> But again, as I have said, the bounty is accessory and funding can be obtained regardless
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> it can/will cause txs to silently fail, remote node connections to silently fail, etc for like 10 minutes after startup
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> More like half an hour if you don't have super good internet
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> @jpk68:matrix.org: Thats not my concern. Its actually tor
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Anonymity network integration works best when both tor and i2p are enables on the node. (txs dont fail if one or the other goes down)
-
br-m
<syntheticbird> The correct course of action should be to fallback to sending the transaction directly to plowsof for biometrically authenticated manual broadcasting.
-
br-m
<syntheticbird> in case both networks are down
-
br-m
<321bob321> Plowsof mitm
-
plowsof
Ill get to it eventually / round robin approach sounds good
-
br-m
<321bob321> Tx validator
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> plowsof: Elaborate please? Not quite sure what you mean
-
br-m
<jpk68:matrix.org> My bad if that was directed at someone else
-

<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Did mrl talk about it at the meeting?
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> It can be merged once mrl signs off on it
-
nioc
didn't it get discussed yesterday?
-
plowsof
Was there an update on phase 1 estimates being around the estimate.
-
plowsof
Yesterday was 15k CS re-audit with a new team?
-
plowsof
Jberman
-
nioc
it was, no sure of the discussion about 663 other than it has gotten positive feedback at mrl
-
plowsof
Sorry yes same meeting
-
plowsof
Have all devs taking part in the fcmp++ integration been funded in FULL uet? :D

-
plowsof
"This CCS requests an upfront amount to cover all 3 Phases" does this mean all funds sent to presumably MAGIC? That is not clear
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I think it just means that the funds raises before quotes obtained
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> With payouts etc signed off by mrl like fcmp++research
-
plowsof
Just an update reg phase1 estimates - incase theyre WILDLY inaccurate , then
-
plowsof
Upvotes and such D:
-
nioc
yes, funds b4 quotes. At least for phases 2+3
-
nioc
as 1 is currently being solicited
-
br-m
<sgp_> @ofrnxmr:xmr.mx: Yes this
-
br-m
<sgp_> Different thing. That isn't part of the berman idea CCS, that was part of the existing fcmp research fund > <plowsof> Yesterday was 15k CS re-audit with a new team?
-
br-m
<sgp_> I agree it's a little confusing but the CCS probably isn't meant for this
