yes, my system is able to detect the ledger when I have Ledger-Live open, the firmware is up to date. I just tried connecting to the GUI with the leader unlocked and monero app open, and Ledger Live closed (I had it open before) and I got the same error.
-
epochs-bulletin[
wait, I think I see something else I could try
-
epochs-bulletin[
The monero GUI Wallet, lists macOS intel, I'm on an arm mac, could this why I'm getting the error? I tried looking at the macOS arm CLI wallet but it's beyong my skills to set that up atm.

have you tried ignoring the error and trying again 😅
-
epochs-bulletin[
😬yea, all three mode selections, restarting computer, starting over, reinstalling, start from begining (generally speaking), I haven't tried uninstalling the ledger monero app and reinstalling, will give that a go.

-
selsta
nano x is also ok if you have a nano x
-
selsta
now that it show up in the device tree, if you open monero-gui does it again print the exact same error message?
-
selsta
don't open ledger live or any other program that might communicate with ledger
-
epochs-bulletin[
yes, prints the exact same error message
-
selsta
ok, can you show what it prints when clicking on nano x?
-
selsta
inside system report
-
epochs-bulletin[
um, do you mean the product id, vendor id, version etc in system information?
-
-
selsta
everything looks good, i don't really know what to suggest apart from different usb cable, port or usb c adapter
-
selsta
i assume you don't have an anti virus on your computer?
-
epochs-bulletin[
the I'm using a usb - to usb c adaptor, but it worked fine with updating the ledger in ledger live, I mean I could go buy a c to c and see if that makes a difference
-
epochs-bulletin[
I have a Malwarebytes login item on, but don't run Malwarebytes, like I don't have it open or on, I could turn that off and restart but just tried to start it and it won't open anyway, gives an error. besides that no other.
-
epochs-bulletin[
I'll try those two things and get back to you tmr.
