for those who haven't seen it already, hammermann put together a redesign concept a few months ago

this is the issue i opened to help kick start some changes to the website

would be great to get some feedback from you

* from you - regarding the site map as it's a little different from the one you propsed

<monero-guides[m]> "hammermann - github.com..." <- Seems like a more detailed version of what I have in mind. I'm simply talking about a UX perspective here. This is definitely more organized than the current website. The way I imagined it first was by thinking in user's goals. People who visit the website are most likely: 1- consumers/users who are curious about Monero and it's usage or are considering it as an investment 2-

developers who are curious about the tech and want to know more about it or contribute to it. This way, it makes sense to have separate paths for each user group and provide them all the information they might need

You see this categorization in other well known cypto projects as well. Like Cardano, Polkadot, etc

I did a little bit of research few months ago to see what average crypto user cares about in a website and this is the results:

is the y axis the number of responses?

or 1-10 importance?

yeah. Even tho I didn't get many responses for that questionnaire,I think it's still available to gather more responses

The thing is there's simply no best site map you can come up with. Only a more optimized version of what already exists is achievable. That's still a lot of improvement tho

it's interesting anyhow, i'd like to know more about the survey of course and interestingly that more or less falls in line with what i had assumed from a new user stand point

Hammermann[m]: i agree, my approach was one of optimisation; going through the site and documenting discontinuities in my ux

this is the survey I made. The main purpose of it was to see how important are crypto websites to users and what they mostly care about in a website

have to advertised it on the monero reddit page?

monero-guides[m]: yeah that's the UX way. Continous improvement

monero-guides[m]: I didn't want to get the opinion of Monero users only cause I thought that'd make the results somehow biased. I mostly sent it in general purpose crypto discussions

i'm of the opinion that it would be better to approach the redesign from a reorg perspective initially. that way we can get the content as is, put it its place and then start with the stylistic changes, which of course seem to have been the major barriers to your design proposal

for the time being, if you would like to recommend any changes to the site map i have proposed, i'd love to hear them

monero-guides[m]: It's usually the other way around in UX design. Because design should always be done in a way to better present the content. But it might work as well if you keep reiterating

And actually that's the way most business choose cause content is never there to be used lol

I can give opinions here and there but unfortunately I can't dedicate time on a redesign anymore. At least not for free.
