the pr is meant to give an objective guideline on what to list on the mobile and light wallets section

ill comment further when i have time, but i feel this is the wrong direction. that is, foregoing responsibility and opening the door for random junk wallets to be listed

the only thing on getmonero should be community vetted software, even if not endorsed

"community vetted software" is way too broad. Now i think it's time to have stricter guidelines, so to have objective parameters to be listed on that section. Having no parameters ends up vetting based on the personal opinion of who is doing the vetting, which is not optimal

we can also say that wallets will be added at discretion of the maintainers of the website, but that would make even easier to end up in a mess of complaints and "why them and not me" kind of situations

In any case, leaving the vetting to an undefined "community" doesn't make sense now that the project is much bigger and there are many different communities

those questions are easy to answer

and no, oroject isnt much bigger.there are only a handful of wallets that CAN be recommended

that's your personal opinion. My point here is to avoid personal opinions as much as possible in favour of an objective set of parameters

and getmonero shoukd only be recommending wallets that are held accountabke

i'm suggesting to decrease the amount of trust needed by a visitor of the website. "Trust me i test wallets" goes in the opposite direction of that. How would getmonero be able to hold wallets accountable? The maintainers cannot do more than list or remove a wallet

with clear parameters instead of the opinion of the active contributors in the specific moment the request to be added on getmonero is made

things get reviewed furst. unused wallets by definition cant be listed as nobody has reviewed them

feel free to keep listing grifter wallets

they can go get listed on poolbay.io or coingecko

That's a centralized approach that i disagree with and that's a recipe for troubles

anyway I think we need more wallets on getmonero

and should be better explained if wallet have closed source backend or requires centralized server required for api price ticker, basically something that's off the industry standard and have privacy implications
