Am I just misremembering things, or was there a time when much more stuff could be directly used with a SOCKS proxy? It like a lot of programmers just decided that supporting SOCKS proxies was bad for some not-really-articulated reasons.

One thing that especially annoys me about the diminished support for SOCKS is that it makes tunnelling through SSH much harder -- and, of course, using arbitrary things with Tor and I2P.

The most frustrating part of this whole "we don't need no SOCKS" shit is the fact that polipo quietly fell out of support. With polipo, you could make pretty much anything work with SOCKS.

I didn't even know it was out of support for several years.

I thought about stripping out the unnecessary functions for SOCKS proxying to make a more purpose-specific tool that was easier to maintain, but I never got around to it.

but it seems that Binance don't accept such a low amount of monero transaction?

not sure what the minimum amounts are for the various exchanges

but actually they only accept $10 or more

I think everyone here knows that most Monero exchange withdrawals and desposits are traceable (Breaking Monero - poisoned outputs). How does it feel to go out and lie to people that they are private and then earn less than holding BTC on your bag?
