Monero doesn't have that problem - I guess you could argue that miners are profiting, but miners have been given explicit protections in some countries

I don't think there's anything that's directly editable. There was a wiki on github, but it predictably got abused.

No, but such should be readily found with search terms "pow pos".

Basically, if you can 51% the network once with PoS, you can 51% it forever.

I'm not sure how that translates to a PoS/PoW hybrid though.

The main issue with PoS is that it incentivizes the rich to get richer - and if you're not staking all your new coins all the time, you are cutting yourself off

The onl way to "enter" the PoS system is if someone else sells you their coins, aka a share of their voting power

So coin owners effectively become the gatekeepers of the system

PoW is "immune" to that (assuming you're not dependant on asics): anyone with a functional cpu can start mining and earn some coin at any time

and exchanges stake the coins that they are holding in people's accounts and reap the reward themselves with no investment

Their intent to switch to PoS is purely driven by market hype and buzzwords. The fact that the switch has been "just around the corner, no really" for over half a decade shows just how problematic PoS truly is, if you actually care about fairness and true decentralization
