Has anyone ever tried to perform some brutal tests with daemon? E.g. randomly kill it and see if db is corrupted

you can never corrupt DB just by killing the daemon

LMDB's crash-proof design has been tested by multiple university research teams...

it can corrupt if the storage device fails

in specific ways - which are impossible on current drives with 4KB physical sectors

Windows has some failure modes of its own, if the OS crashes, but PR#8502 should fix that

It's more like... you can not corrupt the DB, but you could make it inconsistent if there's a bug on the monero side.

There are so many reports of fucked db on windows that I think there might be one of those.

Unless windows really goes out of its way to mess with programs that use mass storage.

You mean, how can you help ? You can run a node to help grow the network size. Mine with p2pool to increase the network hash rate nad get a chance to grab some monero.

No. You'll typically lose out (or the provider would mine themselves).
